If the share price of the mother can sustain above 0.09 (i guess it' ll needs to be much higher than 0.09)  ..... it will encourage warrant holders to exercise it. This will help to raise additional fund of $853M through these warrant.

If the mother' s price is just 0.091 ~ 0.093 ... ppl may not want to exercise it. It will sometimes take up to 1 week for the share to be converted and the mother share price might drop below 0.09 after 1 week.

So .... i believe the mother share price will be pushed above 0.1 to encourage warrant to be converted.

PL owns 45.36% of the total available warrants.

The question is will PL let the wrt expire when he owns 45.36% of the total warrants? However, if the share price goes beyond 0.09 ... he will need to fork out $386M to exercise the warrant (this doesn' t include the piggy back warrant).

The warrant has been dropping from the beginning.

Thanks for the update. Just checked, when the mother share was trading around 0.091-0.094, warrant was around 0.004-0.006 range in early May.  Playing the warrant is cheaper but high beta. The risk is if the price surge is plain speculative, it may not cross 9 ct and drop back then its warrant will be out of money again

There was a placement completed just few months back at 0.06 ... total amount invested was $25M. Invested at 0.06 and we can buy at 0.02. I don't believe the fundamental has changed since the placement that will attract $25M investment...

Actually, i think it' s quite risky to short at this price.

Fundamentally, it' s still financially sound which lots of cash. The NAV is also way above this price, and it is still profitable. It' s trading at almost historical low.

If the price drop is due to some issues which has not been disclosed, there is also a high possibility that they will request for trading halt or suspend- which is the worst case scenario if you are shorting.

Bro, I just checked their Q2 reports.

Cash: 46.797Mil
Debt: 4.4 Mil

Net Cash: $42.797 Mil which is around cash $0.032/ share. The NAV is 0.0752.

Even though the profit has dropped drastically, based on the half year eps of 0.09c ($0.0009) and potential full year eps of 0.0018, based on the current price, the PE is around 11.6 which is ok.

The financial looks ok ... not sure what cause the share price to drop these few days.

I' m also monitoring this counter as Temasek is one of the shareholder. The part that i' m not really comfortable is the liability keep going up. Even though the asset is also going up, but it is made up of license and equipment which is very difficult to liquidate .... and also how accurate is the value of these assets? If you look at the profits, as it is less than the div distribution, the div will definitely decrease. The question is how low will the share price drop till? Will the liability finally stop increasing? The Fed will most likely increase the interest rate again .... how will it impact the dpu?

If you look at the Blumont gang which include IPCO, Liongold, innopac, Magnus .... it' s like they are waiting for something .... the price is not moving, but the buy queue is building up. Maybe the BBs are waiting for the Blumont case to be finally closed ..... when Soh is officially charged.

The major shareholder of Blumont has accumulated (+ the court rule to void the star award) up to 80% of the shares. Since he has so much interest, he might try to inject businesses into Blumont to fry up the share price. But, the case needs to have proper closure before the whole gang can try to fry up the price ... my thought.

If CEL buy from open market to increase the market share to above 30%, CEL will need to make compulsory offer which I believe will be the last purchase price.

If the price is pushed up, and the last purchase price is 0.25, Fang can sell the rest at 0.25. On average, his selling price will go up and will not be 0.135. If Fang sold at higher price, the total cost for CEL will be higher... I think both parties have done their Math.

If CEL didn' t go thru this method, it will be hard to accumulate thru open market to reach this percentage.

This is just my view. I believe the price should go up further... if not, it doesn' t make sense for Fang to sell at such Low price.

YL has a NAV of approx S$0.4 (40cts) as at 3Q2017
And considered the last announcement of the sales of ICC project , YL is expecting to reap benefits of that sales with cash consideration of rmb3.29B (with profit of s$70m). The disposal of ICC is only 27.1% of its NTA. The sales of ICC would generate additional Singapore 2.75cts of asset value will ' effectively' increase its NTA to go up to approx. 43cts .  Why would Fang   let go  6%  to CEL at 13.5cts ! Something must is brewing ! Fang is not telling the full story !

As a owner of the company would you want to sell away your holdings at such a distress price.  No logic at all.

If it is pertaining to the asset sale (most likely), the price may not fall back. They will get back cash worth 0.225 per share ... which is already higher than the current price. Furthermore, the asset that is being sold represent just 27.1% of the current NAV. After selling which they will get back cash of 0.225, they still have other assets.

*******************
The asset that will be sold represent only 27.1% of NAV (around SGD $0.106) but will get back in cash of approximately SGD 0.225. Beside this cash that they will be getting back, they still have 72.9% of the NAV.

Trading halt is likely related to the recent asset sale rather than some takeover or delisting. Likely given waiver by SGX. Just my guess. And if this is the case, the share price will fall back. Usually trading halt is lifted when I(we) are engaged in our work/meeting/relaxation and hence didn' t see the announcement and can' t react fast enough. Of course I hope it is a takeover since I' m vested. LOL.

The FY result should be better than last year:

2016 FY - 263,699,000
2017 9M - 247,064,000. The Q4 2016 came in at $100M. If they retain the same Q4 result as last year, the fy should be at least 347M. They just completed the disposal of the Orchard property in Dec ... and should recognise additional $100M. We could see FY profit of above $400M

Let' s wait for the result. Remain vested.

If they are able to complete the disposal of the property in Orchard, the FY report will look even better as they will be able to recognise another additional $100M. The odd part is that it' s still trading near to 52wks low, whereas their performance is much higher than last year.

Hope they will give out another div if the disposal is completed before the next report.

This will definitely affect the trust of uber users. The incident happend in oct 2016, and only disclose it now. Will this affect comfort' s tied up with Uber? This is not a good news.

Uber' s 2016 data breach affected 380,000 in Singapore, biggest reported breach here

SINGAPORE - Personal information of 380,000 riders and drivers of ride-sharing app Uber in Singapore - including names, e-mail addresses, and mobile phone numbers - were exposed in the app' s data breach in 2016, making it the largest reported breach here to date.

Singapore' s privacy watchdog, the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), said it is investigating if the company had breached any laws.

" Uber' s breach has affected a significant number of users in Singapore. The PDPC takes a serious view of data breaches and is investigating whether Uber has breached the data protection provisions of the PDPA (Personal Data Protection Act)," said a PDPC spokesman.

" We expect Uber' s full cooperation in the course of the investigation."

The Land Transport Authority (LTA) similarly said in a statement that it " expects Uber to be fully transparent and cooperate with local regulators to disclose the extent of those (drivers and customers) that have been affected in Singapore" .

" Uber, as a transport service provider, should be held to high standards of public accountability in both ensuring commuter safety as well as complying with the Personal Data Protection Act in relation to the personal data of commuters or drivers that they have collected," said a LTA spokesman.

In a statement uploaded on Uber' s help page, the company said individual riders do not need to take action as the company has not seen evidence of fraud or misuse tied to the incident.

While Uber has not disclosed the total number of riders and drivers here, Uber Singapore' s general manager, general manager, Mr Warren Tseng, told The Straits Times in May that " over a million" people here actively use the app .

The data breach incident, which occurred in October 2016, saw hackers stealing the personal data of about 57 million riders and drivers globally. Uber only disclosed the hack a year later on Nov 21, 2017.

The company paid US$100,000 (S$135,000) to the hacker responsible, which Reuters identified as a 20-year-old Florida man, to destroy the information.

Information such as trip location history, credit card numbers, bank account numbers, or dates of birth were not exposed, according to Uber' s outside forensics experts.

But several users have complained about being charged in November for phantom" rides they did not take. In one instance, Uber rider Ms Jenna Lim claimed that $1,300 worth of Uber rides she did not take were billed to her in a period of five days in November.

Uber had said it had " no reason to believe" the two events are related as its corporate systems or infrastructure had not been breached.

This is the largest reported data breach of local information to date. In September 2014,the names, contact numbers and residential addresses of 317,000 customers were leaked by karaoke chain K Box Entertainment Group due to lax security measures.

K Box was fined $50,000 for flouting the Personal Data Protection Act.

Even though Uber claims the leaked data has been deleted, cybersecurity experts say there might still be risks to users.

" Dealing with criminals means that there is no guarantee that sensitive information will be destroyed, even if money is paid out," said Mr Sanjay Aurora, British cyber security services firm Darktrace' s Asia-Pacific managing director.

And they warn that personal details can be exploited in several ways.

" Exposed user information acts as an entry point for cybercrime," said Mr Bill Taylor-Mountford, LogRhythm' s vice-president in the Asia-Pacific and Japan. " Spambots, for example, make use of these exposed credentials to send off phishing emails. "

The leaked information, such as names and e-mail addresses, could provide hackers with data on how to guess passwords, said Mr Sumit Bansal, the managing director of SEAN and Korea at network security firm Sophos.

" Many times, personal passwords are derived from personal information such as names, birth dates, and phone numbers.By having these personal details, hackers can potentially guess your password and obtain clues about how you create passwords," he said, advising users to change their passwords whenever such breaches occur.

I believe DFI will win. However, until the regulator has cleared them, it' ll continue to cause uncertainty. Even though the total div is enough to cover this $40M, if the custom wins, they will continue to impose this tax on DFI every year (not just 2016). Each year, $40M will need to be allocated for tax. This will halve the div distribution per year ..... DFI needs to settle this fast to provide assurance to shareholders.

Dividend payout by Duty Free International

The 1st and 2nd interim dividend paid out by Duty Free international in 2015 was around $50M ringgit which translate to 1.75 cents SGD dividend.
==> $40M ringgit is only about 1.5 cents SGD. And the share price has already dropped from 28 cents to 25.5 cents ==> investors already factored in the loss of 1.5 cents SGD. And Duty Free International is very confident of winning the case.

nngeeh      ( Date: 01-Dec-2017 12:45) Posted:

Could be related to the announcement yesterday asa below. If the custom wins, Duty Free might need to pay up to $40M MYR ...... the selldown could be due to this uncertainty.

Seruntun Maju Sdn. Bhd. (" SMSB" ) has received the bills of demand dated 14 November 2017 from the Royal Malaysian Customs of Perak Darul Ridzuan (" Customs" ), which SMSB received on 21 November 2017, demanding payments of customs duties, excise duties sales tax and Goods and Services Tax (" GST" ) as follows:-

i) RM15,400,962.14 claimed under the Customs Act 1967, for the period of 15 November 2014 to 30 September 2016.

ii) RM23,560,972.94 claimed under the Excise Act 1976, for the period of 15 November 2014 to 30 September 2016.

iii) RM377,704.90 claimed under the Sales Tax Act 1972, for the period of 15 November 2014 to 30 September 2016.

iv) RM2,255,346.88 claimed under the Goods and Services Tax Act 2014, for the period of 15 November 2014 to 30 September 2016.

The said Bills of demand were raised by the Customs Department who alleged that SMSB did not comply with certain conditions of a duty-free shop located at the border of Perintah Tetap Kastam Bil 55.

The Company, after consultation with its solicitors, strongly believes that there is no legal and/or factual basis for Customs Department to arrive at their decision to raise the said Bills of demand. This is especially when SMSB&rsquo s duty free shop is located outside the principal customs area. The solicitors

of SMSB will be taking the necessary defence actions on its behalf.
