knn.... use mobile phone by listening and keying in those rubbish details so troublesome
Qanghoo ( Date: 07-Apr-2019 20:10) Posted:
This thing abt automated voice systems asking customers to key NRIC is so commonly practised, not only Starhub (maybe INCOME too).  Worse is, they not only programme phone systems to ask customers for NRIC Nos, but when the customer service officer starts talking to the customer, the customer is again asked for his NRIC.  N it' s not done by one org.  It' s a prevalent rubbish that no one bothers to review why it is that way.  I' ve complained enough abt this already, but no one bothers.  Seems that' s what customer service is all abt.

08 Sep 2018
Let me start by saying that the service provided by the call center and technical staff of Starhub is good.
However their operating process is terrible. I hope that the new CEO can get someone to contact me.
I called Starhub 1633 yesterday because the internet is very slow.
It was painful to get through to the call center. I have to hear all kinds of irrelevant messages and promotions. They do not apply to me. I just needed to talk to a technical person.
After wasting a lot of time listening to the irrelevant messages, I have to enter my 7 digit NRIC (which was no problem) and to authenticate it with my date of birth in DDMMYY format. I got the date of birth wrong and by my mistake, I was thrown out of the automated conversation.
Why is it necessary for me to enter my NRIC and my date of birth for authentication? I am not asking to make any transaction. I am only reporting a problem.
I called again, and after wasting a lot of time, I manage to speak to someone. They arranged for a technical staff to call me back a hour later.
The technical staff assumed that my devices were not working. I had to turn off the modem and three routers for a few minutes and restart them again. My devices are located on three floors.
Why do they assume that my devices were not working? Could they check if there was some problem with their network? Is the traffic slow due to the rain or some faulty device in their network?
After going through the resetting, my internet speed is still slow, less than 10 Mbps. Fortunately, I have by now learned about the speed test to have a sensible conversation with the technical person.
The technical person said that he would send someone to my house the following morning. Another staff would call me to confirm the appointment.
The follow up staff called me at 9.30 am. At that time, the internet speed was very fast 40 Mbps. I did nothing with my router and devices since last night.
I had suspected that the slow speed was due to the Starhub network and not to my devices. After all, the speed was quite fast all along. The devices did not fail.
Here are some suggestions for the new CEO:
a) Change your call center automation. There is no need to give irrelevant messages and advertisements to the customers. Let the customer get to the relevant staff quickly.
b) Do not ask the customer to enter the NRIC and the authentication. Most times, it is not needed. If it is needed, your technical staff can ask for them. They did anyway ask for my address and account information.
c) If there are internet speed issues, have a simple way to identify if the problem is with the Starhub network. Do not assume that it is caused by the devices of the customer. If Starhub is able to confirm that the speed to the location is good, then you can assume that the problem is with the internal devices.
Why am I asking the new CEO to look into this matter? I have raised this kind of feedback to Starhub over the past 10 years. They still keep to their unnecessary and troublesome process.
I end this feedback with the same remark that I made at the start. The customer service and technical staff of Starhub are helpful and patient. It is the SOP (standard operating procedure) that need to be changed. |

seem like business quite booming leh

ya losses quite unlikely.. but any worsening of profit may send the share price down to $1.4x i think..
Or any improvement in profit may also send the share price up to $1.6x ...
So buying this counter is like  playing tikam... betting " big" or " small" ...
haha... maybe will make a bet if the share price drop to say $1.45 region.. I' m also an ex starhub customer..

Qanghoo ( Date: 05-Apr-2019 16:24) Posted:
Frankly, I doubt that they will make a loss.  They are still guiding for a div payout that' d be the envy of many other coys.  Highly unlikely they' d do that if they figure there are reasonable chances of a loss.  But I believe that given the heightened competition, a lower profit is a high possibility, n that wld more than likely send the shares into further compression mode.  Will it be 1.20?  My personal pessimism hasn' t reached that level.  I think may be ard 1.40 if profits drop further.  But don' t rule out their efforts at arresting profitability decline though.
Just to share that personally, I' m no friend of Starhub' s.  I' ve given up on them as a customer.  |

not to be a minor holder mean they want to be StarHub' s main holder with control more than 51 %
Belteshazzar ( Date: 05-Apr-2019 17:09) Posted:
That dollar in Singapore, it's better that we use it somewhere else where there's growth that's even better for shareholders," he added, referring to Axiata's plans to expand operations in other markets across the region, including Indonesia, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Axiata is planning about RM6.8 billion (S$2.3 billion) of capital expenditure this year, with the M1 disposal adding RM1.65 billion to its cash holdings of RM5.1 billion.
Mr Jamaludin also raised the point that while Axiata, which is controlled by the Malaysian government, "liked the investment" in M1, which had given average annual yields of 7 per cent, the conglomerate preferred not to be a minority holder in a privatised company.

i saw people take out $500 , $1,000 buy 4D TOTO or bet soccer etc....
its up to individual..... real gamblers $150 to them is nothing but to those who just want to have
fun once a while then is really unfair.
$150 enough to go Genting Highland and with free hotel stay. Now Govt rather let the money go into Malaysia ......

no need to top up but if you don' t hv any contribution from now on and you have yet to reach the min sum of $185,000 then you cannot
withdraw any CPF funds before your age of 65 ( subject to extend cos Govt want to bring up the retirement age to 67 ) even you fall sick and not able
to work and need cash to funds your daily expenses or medical fees although can use Medisave but cap at certain amount

5G Huawei ?
not so soon bah , do you think SG GOVT dare to invite Huawei to bid for 5G in near future ?
USA can easily ban our telco companies
Observers ( Date: 15-Mar-2019 14:16) Posted:
I think with the coming 5G standards and cheap huawei telecom equipment where data bandwith is set to explode in the multiples compared to 4G, does it mean all these cost per subscriber is going to drop to rock bottom? No wonder TPG can afford to give all these free calls and data, while the other telcos have been giving more and more data to subscribers at a lower price plans.
The license to operate makes up the bulk of the costs?
Data is becoming commoditised? What' s the value-add proposition to the subscriber? Or will it be like airlines, where enterprise (companies) will fork out the bulk of the revenue ala First class and Business class seats in full service for assured availability and stability, while the retail consumers take up the economy seats in budget airlines at/below costs?

TPG is expanding its free service trial to 200,000 users
By James Lu - on 13 Mar 2019, 9:11am
Note: This article was first published on 12th March 2019.
Back in December, Singapore's newest telco TPG offered a free service trial to the first 20,000 customers to register interest. The trial plan was free for the first 12 months and included unlimited data, unlimited local mobile-to-mobile calls, 20 local SMS messages and 20 minutes of outgoing calls to local fixed lines each month.
TPG has now announced that after positive feedback on the coverage and network quality, it is expanding the trial service to 200,000 users. In addition, to support the expanded trial, the number of SIM pickup points will now extended to four locations: Shaw Centre, Westgate, Changi City Point and Jurong Point.
The new sign up period will begin on 20th March. Interested customers can sign up for the trial service at www.tpgmobile.sg. Do note that TPG is still not offering SIM porting for this trial period, so you'll have to sign up for a new mobile number.
TPG Executive Chairman, David Teoh, said, ?Public response to our mobile trial plan has been incredible and we have received positive feedback on our coverage and network quality. Our subscribers are delighted with our simple unlimited service trial plan and fuss-free on-boarding experience.?
?We are also pleased to confirm that we have achieved 99% island wide outdoor coverage and we remain committed to enhancing our mobile network coverage including in tunnels and indoor areas. Subscribers can soon look forward to service enhancements that we will be introducing as well? said Mr Teoh. |
