1Q15 results missed. Net profit fell 23.1% to $142.2m on revenue of $2.34b (-11%), with top-line led by a decrease in utilities revenue (-21%) from lower gas offtake and lower HSFO prices from its S&rsquo pore operations. Meanwhile marine&rsquo s (-2%) decrease was due to lower revenue recognition for rig building projects and lower average revenue per repair vessels. Gross margin inched up 0.4ppt to 12.3%. Bottom-line was further weighed by $10.2m fair value losses on FX forward contracts and a 71.9% rise in finance expenses to $31.2m as a result of the consolidation of SGI and Marine&rsquo s higher bank borrowings. Associate and JV contributions fell 25% to $40.0m, due to lower contribution from Urban Development&rsquo s China operations and Marine&rsquo s associates. NAV/share of $3.31.

Imagine a 38 year old lady with little choices left. All her friends are getting married and having babies while she is still single. Of course this may not be a bad thing but the overbearing feeling of being alone may one day drive her to depression and commit suicide.

So, with yesterday' s news that OOCL will not be taking over NOL, her choices are left with:

(1.) Going Private, Temasek buy back, aka stay with parents. (Possibility:40%, TP: $1.30) Problem with staying with parents is relatives will give you funny look during Chinese New Year.

(2.) Find whatever suitor is left, aka takeover (Possibility: 20%, TP: $1.40) Problem with this option is that virginity once lost to a man means no longer a virgin. This is a national carrier and may not be patriotic to sell to foreign investors.

(3.) Be single and be a lesbian (all men are scum), aka merger (Possibility: 20%, TP: depends on share swap) Same reason as above except this time is with a woman.

(4.) Solicit Toy Boys and Gigolos, aka takeover others (Possibility: 20%), TP: $1.30) May get conned of $ and even contract STD.

Whatever choices she chooses, as buyers we should stand to gain. For investors, it cannot get better than this, as when was the last time oil, commodities, interest rates all are low? There could be a special dividend payout maybe in the range of $0.04 to $0.08 per share after disposal of APL. Temasek could also privatise it by offering at least $1.30 per share. Bigger lines may offer even higher to make it private.

For traders, use candle charts and wait for those long and big fat candles and the classic gap up with vol of at leat 20 million shares for the day or prior.
