Peru

During week 23, catch volumes reached 140,339 tonnes of anchovies caught by the industrial fleet. So far they have reached 1,481,941 tonnes.  TAC is 2.53 mil tons.  i.e at 17 June,  about 58%.  The next TAC is a shocker,     234,300 metric tons in the south region,  starting next Monday and ending Sept 2014, a 45% decrease from the last season quota. going to affect CF' s bottom line unless catch of other type of fishes improves

Johor population doesn' t support the project and most of the talents in Johor biggest city, Johor Bahru are working in Singapore. Iskandar project is pushed out due to the BN lossing the control of 2 biggest and developed state, Selangor and Penang in last 2 election and trying to find a new ground for bribe money. Housing development, so far is good(rely on singapore economic)  however, industry and economic development are not as good as penang and selangor. Let' see what is going to happen in next few years

The main reason for supporting Gallant Venture is looking forward the opportunity in Indomobil which has 90% above revenue from here. Development of Batam and Bintan are slow which may not has any big impact to the revenue, l won' t put too much hope on this sector since building a airport or aviation center take many years to be materialise, this can only be used for speculating. However, Indomobil are the one to be looking forward, under Salim group control, can Indomobil perform as good as Astra International which is owned by Jardine C& C and achieve the similar profit margin is the one that I am looking forward.

Market cap close to 1.7Billion with about 2 Billion annual revenue and NAV about 40cents above. Gallant Venture definitely is worth for investment. My price is 26.5cents, I won' t say current price 34.5 is a good entry price since I won' t add in any share with this price which doesn' t comply my earlybird principal.

No ideal, I am not good in chart but risk of rupiah depreciation recently is a major risk. Let' s see how. Shorting in Gallant is also high risk.

So far so bad.. up to  end of April only about 25% of quota.  Did better in 2nd season but still only 50% as of June 9.  Heard that catch on week ending 17 June was  not much better than June 9..Now they said to extend the 5-10 miles limits for  industrial fishing.  Lets see how it  will go..

Only thing that matters for CF are landings of anchovy and price. They held back paying the money that they borrow to repay Copeinca bond holders. That is how serious the cashflow?

Dont think it will be short of cash. It has been cashing up and so is the Group.

Any info on the latest landing to 15 June? I hope they can get to the half way mark this season.

Obama knew that he could never do much  to curb  pirate fishing because those countries involved in pirate fishings are outside his jurisdiction and pirate fishing is populated  due to higher fish prices which  is something that is beyond his control.  Then his priority is to protect the ocean and the US' s ocean and environment.. so he could only declare US' s ocean off-limit to commercial fishing.  This may not help when  pirate fishing are mainly from Africa,  Thailand and some countries that have little or no control over fishings.

Main use is for piglets, Need fishmeal to grow well. China is the superprime market. Not many people realise this demand.

With the fishmeal price only going as high as USD$2,000 per ton,  with El-Nino this time affecting the fish catch and also,  with the  understand that there are alternative sources of fishmeal such as soybean meal available that has kept the  aqua-cultural farm going with  decreasing supply of  fishmeal,    it will be a  surprise if CF or Copeinca can turn-in good results as good as before.    However,  will wait till CF announces its result early next month before reviewing it again...

My posting made sometime ago when there were noise,  NOW IS LOUD.

THE PRICE WILL DRIFT UNTIL it is known that how much of the Quota is caught, el nino etc.See my post below. You make money by watching price of fish meal, site I had posted, How much is the catch please all look out. Mid May 550,000 tons raw fish was landed.

Blind faith does not catch china fish

In all likely behavour, it will test around 34 before moving upwards nearer August , when the fishing season ends. You think the invisible had collected enough, bearing in mind shares owned by listed entities cannot be moved.

Isolator is hoping and praying. Has never seen facts or basis posted.

We should be here to help each other, at all we want to make some money however small it maybe.

For those who have difficulties reading from undercurrent because the limit is reached.. just copy the title and google search.. once you find the item,  click the small arrow next to address shown in google search,  then select " Cache" .. you will see the undercurrent pages with no restriction.

Undercurrent News

The Peruvian national association of fishing companies, SNP, said captures of anchovy within the legal 5- mile distance from the shore had dramatically dropped, and an extension was urgently needed, news agency Andina reported.

Since 2012, only fishing for direct human consumption is allowed between waters at 5 miles to 10 miles.

But SNP chairwoman Elena Conterno said the global warming was increasing temperatures of the Peruvian waters and pushing the resource to the south, further from the limits envisaged by the law.
