I believe $5.3 (24 Mar 20) should be the lowest before XR which corresponds to $3.92 post XR without taking into consideration of MCB conversation.

TheDuellist      ( Date: 01-Jun-2020 18:23) Posted:

......before adjustments of course, for the purpose of comparison.

TheDuellist      ( Date: 01-Jun-2020 18:21) Posted:

Is there any data to see if mother share holders are in the money now? What is the lowest price during the CR period prior to XR, anybody can remember off-hand

I agree. Unless you are a shareholder before XR, you can' t get any excess. This apply to all SGX shares, not just SIA.

xtraderx      ( Date: 30-May-2020 14:54) Posted:

No thats how it works. You won' t get any excess rights shares.

Trader1987      ( Date: 30-May-2020 14:00) Posted:

I don think it works this way. Imagine the take up rate is very low, I am sure SIA would what those " unsubscribed" shares to be sold to those who applied excess, including non-SIA Shareholders before Ex-rights

The SIA price was around 3.6 ~ 3.8 before the rights application closes ..... At this price, the excess for SIA R will definitely be oversubscribed. No need Ah Kong' s help here.

However, Ah Kong will definitely be required to sweep all the MCB .....

xtraderx. You are right bec someone has email to SIA Shareinvestor Relation and got a similar reply from SIA Shareinvestor Relation on what you have said with a certain particular clauses pointed out on this issue. This means Trader1987 can apply for excess rights over ATM but ultimately, the excess rights application will be rejected by the system since he is not a shareholder before ex-rights date

I am not sure about now .... but when the SIA price was 4.4 (second or third day after xR), you couldn' t short via Philips security (CFD). I believe Philips Security might own some SIA shares ... or they borrow from their custodian holding (those who authorised them and earn interest) or maybe they will get the shares from SGX ....

If they dun have any spare shares ...and can' t borrow from SGX to put into the CFD, you can' t short on their CFD platform.

uiop1223      ( Date: 29-May-2020 18:10) Posted:

Im curious. How they lock? They entered into short positions at very high price such that no further contracts can be shorted but at same time, the transcations will not happen because they que to short at high price.. say $5?

Horseman1234      ( Date: 29-May-2020 15:03) Posted:

try sell with cfd first but orders rejected this morning.  Look like  again the BBs lock up all the sell position.  if you sell mothershare you have to buy back each day and repeat trade until 8 jun.  very expensive

I don' t think there are many investors or fund playing this counter ... by just looking at the volume. This can be a good thing as there is no coverage, we can get it at this price ... but this can be a bad thing also .... it may stay at this price for awhile.

However, as long as mother is up ... it will protect this from plunging ... but when someone comes it to push ... it can easily go jump up many pips.

And this counter has been distributing div since 2011 ....

Nice closing too at 0.75. May try to test the previous high of 0.78, and before heading above 0.8 before the div of 0.3 CNY (but with 10% tax).

It does seem to me from the price movement, it is being pressed down for collection .... immediately, after the price was pushed down one level ... u will sell big sell queue being put in place. Its odd that when the price was like 0.72/0.725,  and the buy queue below 0,720 is not a lot, why would you put a 109 lots at sell queue at 0.740, and 98 lots at 0.750 ... if you are interested in selling, u won' t even bother to put this big sell queue to discourage ppl from even buying at 0.725.

Luckily, we have a good reference .. which is the price of mother share. If the mother' s price is maintained, the selling on the child and all the sell queue is just a show to lure ppl to sell at lower price.

Yes, i believe the price will go up north.

If i am not wrong, they will be issuing the div of 3RMB per 10lots. However, the only difference between A share and S share, the S share will be subjected to 10% tax .... but if you work out the yield, it' s still quite good.

You have good yield, and as there is a big gap between A and S share, there is a high potential for capital gain too. This counter has been giving div for the past few yrs.

kschong01      ( Date: 22-May-2020 11:52) Posted:

what is the relationship between A share and S share? 1:1 exchange? Seem like invest in S share is more return compare with A share, at least dividend is 1:1 as what I see.

This counter has a long history ... and i believe it' s one of the trusted S-Chip as the primarily listing is in China which will be subjected to the law there if there misconduct.

When tianjinzx listed here in 1997 they had shone before.. Since then their share price and Shanghai mother share price went separate ways. Strange because that was a good counter listed then.

After 10yrs, the principle + culmulative interest will be $1,806.11. So, it' s supposed to be $1806/ 4.84. So, if you include the div, the technical conversion is $2.67 but it' ll only be converted after 10yrs.

Do take note that SIA has the rights to redeem the bond anytime ... so, if the SIA share price is $6, there is a possibility that SIA will chooose to redeem and give you the culmulative interest instead of converting at the technical conversion of $2.67.

The MCB will most likely be traded like a bond ... maybe 0.995/1.0 or 1.0/1.01

lighter87      ( Date: 18-May-2020 09:39) Posted:

it is not $1 change to $4.84. its your capital divided by 4.84. if you invest $1000, end of 10 years, they will divide the $1000 by 4.84. If SIA share is trading below that price, you will lose big time after 10 years

westpoison      ( Date: 18-May-2020 09:37) Posted:

why 4.7? The exchange rate is 4.84 after 10 years right?

My view for your future trade, always go in with a plan ... especially short term. We long or short with certain criteria and stop loss. If the price/ news/ deviate from that criteria, we must learn to let go .... and move on. It' s either we are correct, or wrong. We move on to the next trade.

However, if you position each trade as " must win" , " hard fight" and especially " win back my losses" , you are leaning towards gambling side which will be dangerous .... and that is not trading or investing.

According to the stock trading platform, eToro, a staggering 80% of day traders lose money over the course of a year, with the median &ldquo loss&rdquo being 36.3%.

So, you might need to rethink your strategy on trading .... like ... what is the reason that you shorted SIA at $3.8? If your reference is based on this forum where someone is saying that it' ll go below $3, or even $2.5.... then, that will not be a good source of reference. This platform can be used for sharing, but could also be used by BBs to lure ppl to keep shorting so that they can cover back their own short. At the moment, the lowest is $3.7. No one will definitely know whether it' ll go below this, and if it does ... when. Unless you have done your own analysis based on TA and FA and with a plan on how to limit yr risk and exit strategy .....you could be leaning towards gambling side ... and do take note of the statistic from e-Toro above.

And, don' t borrow money for trading ..... it' ll affect your emotion and will in return affect your trading. You need to be clear on your plan .... you can' t fight the market. It' s never a hard fight because we can' t fight against it ... we can only try to predict the market based on FA/ TA ... and it' s either we are correct or we are wrong (and move on).

My view..

Win2607      ( Date: 16-May-2020 22:22) Posted:

No worries bro, I appreciate and thanks for your advise.I understand that nobody can predict the market. It Is just my own choice to fight all the way! Now already no turning back already. If I let go now, I will feel very unwillingly. at least I put up a hard fight, maybe I can win back my losses.

uiop1223      ( Date: 16-May-2020 22:10) Posted:

Er... no no. Sorry if i give u wrong impression. I bet within my means.. my life and family will not be affected even if i lost.

Now, we need to ensure our daily needs are protected before we long or short the mkt.. pls think twice.

Sorry if i given u impression to go all in. Life is not certain. Stk mkt even more uncertain. Theres no confirmation that SIA will drop. This is based on each thinking and prediction based on informed decision. But no one knows what will happen in future. Like, i dont even know if i still be alive tml?
