There is one thing Uber & Grab can' t do, is picking up passengers from road side and taxi stand, but limted to only bookings. CD should develop software to improve bookings and fare structure to remove the surcharge to address the no shows encountered by taxi drivers. Just beat the surcharge, some book taxi and hide somewhere down the road, where taxi driver gave up waiting and leave, they will appear at roadside to flag down the cab.

Only if more than 50% of the shareholder  who attend  EGM and more than 75% of their  shareholings voted " No" , TH can not proceed with the Scheme of Arrangement, right?

Just vote " NO" to the buyout.

With extra 991million cash in hand and minus off the useless depreciating assets, SMRT becomes an attractive buy.

Therefore Temasek came in with good business sense to buy to shore up their portfolio.

Unlikely lah. The leases are not short leases. Can not anyhow terminate till the expiry date of leases.

Either way if no privatisation happen, stock would correct when reopen as smrt loose monopoly. If privatisation happen, don expect th to pay premuim tax payers money not used to fatten investors pocket lol. Very bad market environment with global long term growth damaged by brexit and danger of south china sea conflict going out of control. Count urself lucky if offer price in range of 1.50 to 1.70, if there is any offer at all.

After the impending announcement, will the authority investigate the leakage of information if the TH' s action is true? The buyout price is believed to be certain % over WAP of SMRT shares. The % is important to the shareholders now.

And another question is the timing. Immediately after LTA buyover asset, TH buyover SMRT. It does not give the market opportunity to digest the impact of LTA buyover to establish the new market price.
