A brief but a good comprehensive analysis. Agree, too many neg against any positives.
Any push up likely by the usual shorties trapping the contras, who as usual will have to cut loss.

I have a short term target of $0.80 for Genting . Reasons as follow :
1) I foresee lower dividend for next few FYs as GS needs to plough money into the new $4.5 billion project . Net cash of sgd3.26bil is insufficient so they will either raise money by issuing rights , bonds or borrowings all of which will incur either financial cost or dilution of shareholders value .
2) institutional investors might bail out in view diminishing margin of return both dividend and stock value wise . They include Phillips, Ocbc , cimb, RHB, UOB Kay Hian , Morgan Stanley Merrill lynch and DBS Vickers .
3) Most Analysts downgrade to hold with no buy ratings meaning shares will have downward pressure coming days .
4) TA wise , HA showing negative down trend with Long red candle representing huge selling pressure .
5) overall negative environment as government is trying to send a message about gambling with an increase in Levy for Singaporean. $50 means singaporean may consider alternative such as Genting highland or overseas IR such as those new ones in Jeju, Korea for example. Japan is also opening new IRs which will attract China gamblers as its nearer to travel to Japan .

Note that a better analysis will be available once we know what are Genting plans on raising funds in the Money Markets as we will be then able to more accurately calculate their finance cost . The non gaming component is usually subsidised by the profit from gaming component so we can considered the profit contribution as negligible . Overall it will benefit the Singapore economy as the money will create jobs across various industries and the 7% increase in tax levied will be of course the icing on the cake. However , it cannot be taken for granted that tourist number may increase coming into Singapore and that?s a big IF. What I do know is that the Singapore is the big winner while it?s cloudy skies ahead for Genting Singapore . MBS will also benefit more as they get to increase their game to plot ratio compared to Genting . Hence , I suggest investors to wait for clearer skies before putting their monies back in to Genting again .

The Accountant saw the price going up really fast while he was calculating, he was tempted to get in immediately but his training stopped him. When he finally got the numbers and decided to buy, the price has gone up 50%. He went in anyway.

The price started to fall after he bought, and the ending of this story is a familiar one.

Can the accountant do a calculation of 1000 Hotel rooms equal to how much profits annually ? Plus , shops , food court , restaurants , entertainment , events etc ... 🤣 🤣 🤣 all these exclude the 700 millions.. Can it hit 1 billions net profits annually ?

Share price and div both separately.. Share price manipulates by BB wherelse debt shrunk manipulated by company 🤣 🤣 🤣 just a stroke of a pen will do ...can take just take , I pity those company giving no div and share price controlled by BB .. more Jia lark

Wait to take higher div for what. Div gradually increased n debt shrunk over the last few yrs. But share px also got lower. What a joke. That' s why I' m neither a div preacher nor desciple. Hahaha ....

This will prolly happen in a few years time . Meanwhile the price will be under selling pressure. It?s good to buy but prolly not now . When the dust is settled ( dividend and future dividend guidance declared, method of fund raising ( bonds , loans or rights if rights confirm the share price tank. If loans or bonds means less dividend until more money roll in ) then I will buy in. Mean time it?s a waiting game.

Yes, I think the key phase is ' they have done their sums' . All businesses n businessmen do, n some even seem to have an uncanny nack of seeing beyond the horizon. Just bear in mind, no one is here to do charity. So, I' d also love to buy < 90 if it' s engineered down to that level or lower - the lower the more we' d love of course .....

Frankly - I want to buy more below 90centd too - but these Lim are multi billionaire - smarter than any new grad Analysts - they have done their sums and no one can force them to invest $4-$5bil unless they see value and potential - another 1,000 hotel rooms is a lot and the plot ratio of RWS shoots up 50percent.
