one of the original founders ( who had since got off with $millions before the bus dived ) had started abalone feeds & spawns business in China very PROFITABLY while Oceanus still could not see her way out of the heavy fog. A) Singapore team trully no competition to the Chinese competition --- as in a foreign TIGER is not match to the local SNAKES.   B) For the coming 6-9 months, abalone industry will be HARDEST HIT by the HK Riots ...Chinese abalone prices have already fallen 20-30% in the past months... and prices will continue falling like dead flies... soon you can eat fried noodle with chinese abalones in food courts at the same price as hainanese chicken rice... C) contract to set up Sungai Tengah farm unlikely to get the economy of scale nor the desired profit ( if not another round of losses ) ... Singapore is too small a market for abalones & Singapore mkt is dwindling going forward...
The youth in Singapore cares more for steak and roti-pratas than farmed abalones.   While Mexican abalones continue to sell briskly at 10times the prices, farmed Chinese abalones/Sungah Tengah abalones will face very uncertain times ahead.... D) As long as Oceanus remains in this " abalone" business, there is no future as Chinese abalone farms dictate the future, not Oceanus.

when all the suckerboys (SB) sold out then let us see what more magic can the few BBs do ( when they play among themselves ).

counting the chickens before the eggs hatch. oceanus has not much product to sell and 2017 continues to burn cash. without real tangible net profit, expenses will continue to burn black holes..Business should be based on real tangible sales and not on goodnewsannoucements alone. Dr.Ng n CFO quited just before this landclaimwindfalll annoucement.. they knew somethign that the SB (small or sucker boys as opposed to BBs ) would never know.

Aside from the land claim windfall ( not the result of management' s performance ), oceanus still has no foreseeable profit in the coming months ( even years ) as revenue still below expenses. ask the management to give a sales forecast for the year 2017 and you should see maximum sales of RMB$19millions - longway to break-even. Financial cowboys need to become magicians again pulling rabbits out of this empty hat - round 2.

$38mio instead of $20mio++ landclaim must have been known many months - even ppl not inside the company knew about this landclaim back in 2015. strange that dr.ng n cfo resigned just days before they announced this $38mio old news. they knew something that we did not ? they kept the counter alive just waiting for this land claim. now they have fresh $18mio to play the wallstreet cowboy again ? total loss of rmb$billions would take miraculous efforts to recoup.

now it figures.. all the perks and fringe benefits for these fat cat management while all the shareholders are left to hang for dead...one side gets all the benefits while the other side assumes all the risks and losses. no wonder there are so many wolves (in armani suits ) running amog in wall street...wonder what SGX will do about those shady hidden deals... yes it is rather strange that land compensation of 20+millions has not been highlighted nor mentioned in any of oceanus annoucements or AGM ... guess the less the shareholders know about this ... the better for ...

As forecasted many months earlier, Sakae came in a whopping $13MM loss for 2016 - putting her combined loss since 2010 at $10MM averaging $1.4M loss average per year for past 7 years. Apparent that Sakae has no clue to turn around her core business while her chairman continues to diversify/divest in other non-food-related ventures ( finance, IT n beauty products n trading etc ). Sakae is closing down numbers of outlets in the coming months. FY2017 will see dramatic drops in sales revenue of core business + more writeoff/rationalization costs. All her non-core-ventures would not be able to save her from the red sea. The only savior would be a court-judgement awarding them the $MMs in her suit against Gryphon but even with that award, FY2017 would still be in the RED. Q12017 ( out in May 2017 ) would probably show $millions losses. FY2017 forecast $1MM to $8MM losses with a 30% drop in sales revenue. Compounding the problems, staffs' morales so low. Good staffs probably leaving to work at new expanding outlets at Sushi Express and Genki Sushi.

Core Restaurant Biz ( excludes non-operational legal expenses ) continues to lose $400K per month for several consecutive quarters = indicative that the management had no clue to stop the bleeding. Yet to see any affirmative sign of an effective turn-around-plan for the coming months of economic-downturn. However her competition remains profitable though. Strange that the share price remains unchanged after the poor 1H result. At this trend, Sakae will likely to see $millions loss for 2016.

stock market just the same as casinos in many ways. the house (major shareholders/management) always has the edge while the small shareholders are just born suckers for the bread crumps. not just singapore but any businessman with a gram of greed would maximize one' s interests without any regards to the sucker-investors.

for the shareholders, what is more important, $1 EPS with 500 outlets or $0.1 EPS with 5000 outlets ?   for the highly paid management with bonuses and perks, 5000 outlets big sales means more opportunity to skim off more cream before shareholders get a sip. whatever happened to the idea of shareholders' profit come first ? what is the point of rapid (over ) expansion that erode profit instead of increasing profit ?

nearly 1000 outlets the group operate. if you are a good businessman and you operate 1 outlet, by right you should generate at least $5000 per month of next profit, otherwise you cannot consider yourself a good businessman. i mean a food court operator can clear $2000 per month of net profit after expenses. 1000 outlets managed by the brilliant management team at IHQ with all the savvy know how and economy of scale and bank loans, breadtalk should easily show 1000 outlets x $5000 x 12 = $60millions of net profit every year just to match the direct sum total. yet with all those high paid brains and fancy IHQ, the profit is $16millions ( equivalent to $1350 profit per outlet per month ). imagine that.. with so much resources invested in each outlet, it merely generate $1350 per month in profit per outlet.

these fat cat management akin to gambling at marina sands with shareholders' $$$$$$$$ - n got paid handsomely for each hour they gamble plus all the vip perks ( they are the highrollers ). by luck , they won $$$$$$ one night, they immediately claimed $$$$$ as performance bonus...(as if they really good at winning) but after many nights, the total loss came to $hundred of millions, they still got paid handsomely and blamed the mega losses to bad luck (abalone stock died unexpectedly ...)   cannot lose lah... by the way, you did not see the chairman ceo coughing back those $millions bonuses based on virtual paper profit of the past...

for those waiting for the china land refund of $$$$$ to repay their shareholders' loan to oceanus, this $8K is peanut. if oceanus should close before the china land claims arrive, these folks stand to lose $80millions+ writing on the wall .. this counter is on life support merely to wait for the china land claim money ... thereafter only good for RTO for another oceanus-wannabe to repeat another magic road show.

Spot on ! caveat emptor.   today 2260K shares worth below $70 bought n easily propped the price back to 0.004. wonder the real motivation behind buying $70 of stock for ? if only the china government take 2 more years to pay the land compen...love to see how the management drag it out...every day of waiting burns cash ( really like the coma patient in intensive ward ...even sleeping coma needs $$$$$ per day to keep alive )... testing the will of the BBs n those who lend cashflow to sustain the highpaid management until the landcompenfund arrives....

oceanus should be the text book study case for business schools and crime syndicates.... learn how to vanish millions from one pocket into another pocket legally while profiting millions magically... even bonuses for performing the tricks..

with many unhappy creditors chasing her for payments that were arrear for many months , what can the fat cat management do if the BBs refuse to pump in more money. she needs no small money to run the world' s largest landbased abalones.. no joke. each tank needs 1rmb a day still comes to thousands rmb everyday plus those high paid managers n directors.. beg to wonder if any of these high paid managers is owed any salary for months...

can see BBs are frantically keeping this counter afloat ( they need to keep it alive until the chinese government pays the millions of land reclaimation compensation - to pay back some of the outstanding big loans given by some of these BBs to oceanus ) - the only reason that this counter is still kept alive by the BBs. the chinese security firm knew and held the ace card . oceanus must play by the chinese rules. the coma patient has passed the point of no return today. folks these BBs are like the tied crabs.. waiting only for the chinese land compensation before abandoning ship. unlike Apple in distress years, she has no steve job on board only fat cats.
