Time to trend up with China opening up

For those who have confidence with China, then buy HKL.

personal opinion:

-security law will bring in more investors to hk due to the added stability in the region and mass exodus of trouble makers in hk. most of the people who are afraid of their own future in a ccp controlled region would be the trouble makers.
-msci shifted to hk, due to the expected increase in chinese instituitional and retail investors. also a vote of confidence for hk as financial hub. attract more companies and need more offices maybe?  https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2020-05-27/msci-moves-some-derivatives-licensing-to-h-k-from-singapore
-with nasdaq stepping up on checks on chinese companies, and hsi changing stock index rules to accomadate chinese tech giants, will it cause them to shift to hongkong, and need more office space?  https://www.cnbc.com/2020/05/19/china-techs-alibaba-xiaomi-to-benefit-as-hong-kong-changes-hang-seng-rules.html

Ultimately vesting in hkland is putting your trust in china, trusting that they will not let hk fall. price is near historic low and will not be able to climb back up to pre protest price of  > usd5.50 anytime soon. but the 20% jump from previous low in march to april could be expected in the next 2 months, with china coming out with more details about the security law, as the world leaning more towards china rather than usa now.

I bought 5000 shares of HKL last month as I feel that the price has met my entry level only for it to tank after China passes its anti-HK bill that bypass HK?s legislature. Now it?s back to my entry price. I am asking for comments whether I should sell now and break even or stay on the course.

Yes i agree, it seems it may definitely Gap Up tomorrow, as it was over-sold due to last friday' s sudden news which actually does not have that much of an impact on the underlying.

Shanghai composite in the green. Hangseng also turning green.

Hongkong has dealt with this national security law before in 2003. No need for overreaction.

Last time during the protest last Jun to Aug, HKL shares drop by about 15%, from about $7 to $6, in 3 months. We probably will see the price drop from $3.80 to about $3.25 (15% drop). But, you need to be quick to cover back. My personal thoughts, is that if indeed the price drop to about $3.20, I would buy and keep.
