blackrock has been displaced by another. it is an individual, ceo of scm wong weng sun  0.1815%. ranked after temasek
indeed through all the ceo, directors and all, i believe temasek is holding more than 80% of scm

The larger point for SMM' s minority shareholders is that they are really in the same boat as Temasek, whether they obtained their shares largely from the 5-for-1 rights issue or entirely from the distribution in-specie by SCI.

About one-fifth of Temasek' s SMM shares came from the sub-underwriting deal, which would have cost it S$0.20 per share. The other four-fifths of its SMM shares were de-merged from its SCI shares, the value of which it will certainly want to preserve.

So, the current spate of selling notwithstanding, it seems logical to assume that whatever strategic moves Temasek makes with SMM will be in the interests of most minority investors too.

imo the corporate actions have not ended... TH may be thinking of various options to merge Keppel O& M and SMM... will wait for this next chapter and hope SMM will have some gain then. This should not be too long... may be within next 12 months?

That is huge loss

I am sure temasek loss isn' t any better

better      ( Date: 17-Sep-2020 18:02) Posted:

Exactly.

Btw, Temasek would not be too concerned about the quoted value of its holdings until nearing their next reporting year end on the 31st March 2021.

Based on SMM' s mother share price of between $0.70 to $2 for the last 3 years, the average price per share of the CEO Wong Weng Sum 0.17% ownership would be between $0.29 to $0.60.

A few points to highlight.

First, Temasek' s likely still own only 42.6% of SMM received from the rights issue., Being a substantial shareholder, they would need to make a SGX announcement within days if they increase their holdings via open market purchase. We are not see any announcement so far.

Second, based on their indirect ownership of 29.9% of SMM and the price of SMM' s share over the past 3years $0.70 to $2) before the rights issue, Temasek' s average per share cost of their SMM' s holding would be between 26 to 41 cents depending on whether you use $0.70 or $2 for the mother shares.

Temasek' s enhanced stake may fortify minority shareholders' faith in Sembmarine

We all know that it won' t happened.

Many people wish that SMM will go back to its glory days but it is just a dream.

SMM is technically bankrupt without SCI and Temasek monies.

Temasek will eventually privatise it cheaply with all the minority shareholder values wipped out. This is the best way for them to save face. Once it is delisted, the company will be taken off from the media and investors radars.

Why would SCI' s shareholders keep the free SMM shares? Lock in the profits while you can.

SCI is the one which will flourish, not SMM. That' s why SCI cut it off.

Buy SCI, and not SMM

Because i got SCi share and given SCm, i sold all the SCi, left with SCm and need to sell them at 24cts to break even. Look like is a mammoth task to hit 24cts in the short term. Hardly can cross 17cts today and now fall back to 16.6 cts. PP talk about after covid19, this will soar, but everything will oso soar, maybe even huge soar like SiA etc

danger      ( Date: 17-Sep-2020 09:16) Posted:

why you 24cents ? becuase you have original SCM shares and rights ?

TigerPlay      ( Date: 17-Sep-2020 09:14) Posted:

i really hope u r right leh. i need SCm to touch 24cts just to break even leh, wonder how long it will take? 2 yrs
