the FY16 financials only reflect the business of the precision engineering business and the financial metrics look impressive. ROE in excess of 30% and double digit net profit margin. valuation still looks cheap with EV/EBITDA just 1.8.
given that oil prices are on the rebound, that would be the next catalyst for the Group. looks like plenty of upside and legs for this counter to run.

Yes, i like their business model - sustained , profitable precision enhineering business coupled with oil production as the 2nd wing.

both business segments are in a sweet spot - the precision engineering aspect is doing well (tailwinds from currencies as well) and they are also expanding in China. many other peers in this basket have all been re-rated (Innovalues, Sunningdale, Hi-P, etc).
guess the other real catalyst for them to move to next level is when they start oil production. with OPEC committing on their promise to shrink inventories (as evidenced over the weekend), this could really be a counter to look out for.
Results are good. I think GSS has turned the corner and things are looking up for them.
