not sure if this can be done, u sell ur rights at 20c on opening. most likely it wil drop, like what happened to SIA and buy back the rights at a cheaper price( that is if it drops). Is this rights tradable? like the SIA rights. So if you are holding at a high cost $1.50 -$2, scoop up whatever rights you can if u still believe there is value in this company and wait lor. Wait for Kep Corp to makan SMM or for Crude oil to go back to $60 - $80. Tmr will have alot of analyst and gurus giving strategy liao 😂 just wait la. Anyway EGM will be in end Aug/Early Sep.

Can I ask about 2 and 3.. How to sell right and how to exercise rights?

governor      ( Date: 08-Jun-2020 19:49) Posted:

take your pick.

1.) sell the share,no entitlement to rights shares

2.) sell the rights

3.) exercise your rights

4.) do nothing (lose the most money)

Hi, need some views or help to understand this rights thing. I have 20lots (20,000) of SMM at $1.38. Ignore I fully subscribed to the rights I am entitled to 100lots at $0.20 (total $20k). Then my avg cost will be $0.396? ($13800x2 + $20000 = $46700 /120000) . What will the trading price be of SMM after all the rights is over?

scenario 2: if I don&rsquo t buy the rights, but I am still entitled to 100lots? I can sell them rights during the rights trading week? Assuming the rights is trading at 20cents, I sell all I will get back $20k? Sorry I am confused, is that how it works?

if I cut my loss for SMM tomorrow, I will not be entitled for the rights? Which scenarios or method is the best to reduce my loss? :(

Means u will lose big time lor.... your per share at S$1.50. If you exercise your rights 1 Share you can buy 5 Shares at S$0.20 each. You sub all the 665000shares + your existing 133000 share = 798,000shares @S$0.416/share (Your avg down price)

If you dont sub then you will be holding per share at S$1.50, which is at least a lost of S$1 per share......

133000x5=665000 shares at S$0.20=S$133,000
Plus ur current 133000xS$1.50=S$199,500
S$199,500+S$133,000=S$332,500 / 798000shares = S$0.416/share

But Dyodd, Any Gurus can give a better advice

Assuming 1 share still $0.70

rights price = ($0.70+$1.00)/6 = $0.283 each
5 rights = $0.42
1 share = $0.70 - $0.42 = $0.28

Yeah that' s right.

I just wonder if that would be more beneficial to shareholders vs the rights issue

UncleBobby      ( Date: 08-Jun-2020 19:05) Posted:

Are u referring to the " White Wash Waiver" ?

My understand is that legally Temasek would be obligated to offer a Take Over of Sembmarine if their increased ownership via the rights underwritten cross 30 percents but now the shareholders has to forgo that requirement in order for the whole rights issue to happen

in any case , i am certain this complicated restructuring together with temasek plan to take control of kep corp are just steps toward merging both entities .

after completion , Temasek will hold > 30 percents of Sembmarine , More if existing shareholder does not exercise their rights.

Can imagine it is much easier for them to merge sembmarine into kepcorp for synergy ,

stocknewbie      ( Date: 08-Jun-2020 18:44) Posted:

hey guys i noticed one detail which is not shouted out much in the news coverage.

There is something that says if Temasek makes an offer to buy 30% directly, then the entire rights issue is off or take a different form?

If not enough cash to exercise all the rights, you' ll have to (1) decide how much $ you have to exercise the rights and (2) sell the rights when its tradeable to cover some of your costs

Thank you Skyearth_22

But if I have no more funds to buy those rights, what can I do? I only left with emergency fund of 6 months :(

any advise is greatly appreciated
