Yes best example is Singapore Airlines. Suspended on 26th March @ $6.50 and announced rights at 50l3% Discount ( rights price $3) and TERP $4.40. On 27th Marxh it opened @ $6 and wend down to $4.40 on ex date it fell further down to $3.50 and then recovered to $4.40 now..

Sembcorp Marine will go downwards heading towards TERP $0.30 as no one going to pay $1 for a share thats issuing rights at $0.20. Expect sharp drop in this tomorrow

The rights ex date will only be decided end of august / early September after EGM of both companies. With regard to holding 100,000 sembcorp marine shares. You are entitiled to subscribe for 500,000 sembcorp marine shares @ 0.20 ( which will cost you 500000×0.20 = $100,000) Even if you have $100,000 under your pillow dont subscribe to the Sembcorp Marine rights issue. Instead = BUY ( U96 ) Sembcorp Industries = Parent of Sembcorp marine. For every 100 shares you own in U96 you will get 427-497 FREE RIGHTS SHARES in Sembcorp Marine as Dividend. I.e., that $100,000 under the pillow you have kept to buy rights shares on SM if you buy SCI = The last close of SCI ( U96 ) was 1.53 but I am.using $1.75 as I am pretty sure you won't see that price anymore. $100,000 ( YOUR CASH ) / ( U96 PRICE ) = 57,142 SCI Shares RIGHTS DIVIDEND CALCULATION : 57142 / 100 = 571 × 427 = 243,817 FREE Sembcorp Marine Shares if you sell this at TERP of $0.30 1) 243,817 × 0.3 = $73,145 from sale of your free shares. 2) Sale of 57214 Sembcorp Industries Shares ( Book value will be around $2.70) but we well for $1.75. Anything above = additional profit. 57215 shares × $1.75 = your $100,000 back under the pillow. 3) Your current 100,000 Sembcorp Marine shares at any price say $0.30 = $30,000 4) sale of premuim for your Right to subscribe = ( Current price - 0.20 ) say 0.01 = 500,000 x 0.1 = $50000 Total.inflow = 73,145 + 100,000 + 30,000 + 50000 Total Outflow = YOUR CURRENT COST ON THE 100K Sembcorp marine you hold + 100,000 Profit = Inflow - Outflow Assumptions : that you will sell Sembcorp industries at $1.75 its likely to be closer to $2.2, Assumed you will exist Sembcorp Marine after the ex date in September at TERP 0.30, and that you will make.only 0.10 on premium.

1)When is the right expiry date? 2) u mean if I hold 100000 shares, automatically I will get 500000shares? Or I need to subscribe the 500000 shares@$0.2. Fork out $100000?

ICXGOLD      ( Date: 08-Jun-2020 20:31) Posted:

The smart option is not to subcribe the rights issue. But instead use the money to buy SCI shares and get some rights shares for free Eg: say I own 3000 SMM shares at $1, I can get 15000 rights @ 0.20 (cost $3000). So total costs = 3000+3000 = 6000 / 18000 shares = 0.33 average cost ------ The same $3000 If can get hold of SCI @ say 1.75 = 1714 SCI shares SM = 3000 I own + ( 7259 Rights @ 427 per 100 SCI ) SM Total shares = 3000 old + 7259 = 10259 ( $0.292 average cost of SM ) + whatsever we sell 1714 of SCI for = profit

Hi, need some views or help to understand this rights thing. I have 20lots (20,000) of SMM at $1.38. Ignore I fully subscribed to the rights I am entitled to 100lots at $0.20 (total $20k). Then my avg cost will be $0.396? ($13800x2 + $20000 = $46700 /120000) . What will the trading price be of SMM after all the rights is over?

scenario 2: if I don&rsquo t buy the rights, but I am still entitled to 100lots? I can sell them rights during the rights trading week? Assuming the rights is trading at 20cents, I sell all I will get back $20k? Sorry I am confused, is that how it works?

if I cut my loss for SMM tomorrow, I will not be entitled for the rights? Which scenarios or method is the best to reduce my loss? :(

u can refuse to suscribe to the rights

but u will will ur 100k shares keep dropping in value lor

if i were u, i would just subscribe to the 500k shares, and fork out the sgd100k, and wait for it to recover

alternatively, i will cash out 100K smm shares and convert to sci shares, afterall, if the egm passes thru' , u will be entiled to 100:427 shares of smm

just my 2 cts, anyway its highly dilutive for smm, but its really unlocking value for sci.

There will be a new quote on the stock exchange for e.g only like sembmarine R etc.

to exercise rights,it can be done via atm. Take a look at the rights document, they will give instruction on exercise of rights.

Can I ask about 2 and 3.. How to sell right and how to exercise rights?

governor      ( Date: 08-Jun-2020 19:49) Posted:

take your pick.

1.) sell the share,no entitlement to rights shares

2.) sell the rights

3.) exercise your rights

4.) do nothing (lose the most money
