if you go to any banking thread like DBS posts, you only get people taking about profits, earnings, % yields or dividends, and nothing else, nothing about its current developments or happenings.... they said banks are very boring, nothing exciting, nothing much to read..... well, said who?.... DBS chief executive officer Tan Su Shan said at a results briefing that it was a " tough" quarter, given tariff uncertainties and falling interest rates, but the bank mitigated these headwinds with balance sheet management and deposit volume growth.
Ms Tan explained that the bank projected net interest income in 2025 to exceed 2024 levels despite declining interest rates as higher volumes can drive net interest income growth.
" Focus on net interest income. Don&rsquo t focus on net interest margin, because it will go down with the markets, but net interest income can go up with volumes and that&rsquo s how you mitigate that. That will keep you resilient and hopefully keep you ahead," she said.

Yeah,... they increased their stakes in Alliance Bank of Msia & The Rural Shenzhen Comm Bank of China last year,... I was silently hoping these purchases have not consumed up their major funds and left none for rewarding shareholders,... I' m glad they have announced the Capital Return program.

I think the SBB program will only be deployed if the sp drops to a low level as determined by the mgmt. It won' t be deployed at current price and at current time today. The 3bil set aside will be used to support the sp ! And one round has already been deployed a few weeks back, if my memory serves me correctly...
