.......... from Friday' s (Nov 12) results of UMS ..... the contributions and potential of JEP getting even clearer .... and fundamentally UMS now owns 71.39% of JEP (need to acquire another 18.61% to take it private and save compliance$$) .......
JEP' s recent acquisition was also very timely as the Group was able to leverage on its extensive and
readily available manufacturing facilities in Singapore to support UMS&rsquo strong customer order flows
- alleviating the production challenges faced in the Group' s Penang campus due to the tightened
COVID 19 measures implemented by the Malaysian authorities in the past two months.
This powerful momentum, driven by the explosion in global chip demand in the past months will carry
the semiconductor market to substantial growth for the full year 2021 and beyond.
Mr Luong added, &ldquo In addition to the strong semiconductor market outlook, the Group
is also well-poised to ride the potential upswing in the aviation sector. JEP with its
established track record in the aerospace industry stands to reap the gains from the
aviation industry recovery.&rdquo

....... though not directly related to JEP, the mere fact that Frencken is buying Avimac Pte Ltd, an entity where the biz is quite similar to JEP ...... tells a lot about the potential of JEP itself.

..... with the prevailing sluggish aerospace biz, the morphing into semiconductor biz is more than just a side-hustle ..... or diversification. With those equipment purchased from UMS .... it is win-win for UMS and JEP .... as press-release openly acknowledged it, ie.... readily available production capacity and technological competencies ..... and of course ready manpower (which is a real scarce resource given border closure). As long as JEP' s aerospace accreditations and ISO-certifications are intact, the rigour is no-less for ppl from semiconductor industry.
