Will have dividend this quarter?
Yes, freight rate and time charter rate up. From FY2021 onward, since all 14 vessels including new two vessels are in operations, FSL Trust will likely pay quarterly dividend. Annual US 1 cents or higher is expected, translating to about 16% dividend yield given the closing price of 8.5 cents. Doydd
with increasing freight rate fsl trust could payout another qtrly dividend, although likely lower than us1.5c, but still a very high yield stock.been enjoy 3 qtrly dividend, looking forward to a fourth one.
with freight rate at its multiple yrs high, fsl trust could trade above 10c in not so distance future.
Yes, changed. But fleet utilization still weak. Baltic index is 1,400 - recovered some bit. Really need to be able to charter out those ships on long term charter.

That was more than 10 years ago when the trust announced it was like an annuity. It promised high payouts and then one fine day, the dividends were suspended for a few years and only recently restored. Howto get back optimism?

Not really, ships can last 25-50 years, longer than aeroplanes. This trust bought their ships at a height! Then sold at a low. Over leveraged at the start and caused many to lose money. No more confidence in this company. Better managed? I dun no, shipping has not picked up in this environment. Do not know how it will even survive. Should have wound up earlier and stop buying again ships.

Ship ages fast.. buy new and sell old. Milk them hard in between. The Trust is now better managed and more prudent with their cashflow compared to their early days.
Pay back debt and wind up
Sell ship is good? If sell all then company do what?

There a announcement.... sold the ship at $7.4M
FSL Trust announces sale of three ships, following Q2 profit declineTHREE wholly-owned subsidiaries of First Ship Lease (FSL) Trust have executed memoranda of agreement to sell three containerships to unaffiliated third parties, and received the initial 10 per cent deposit in escrow, the trust' s manager said in a bourse filing on Wednesday.

Details of the net proceeds from the disposal and their utilisation will be announced upon completion of the disposals, it added.

The vessels - FSL Eminence, FSL Elixir, and YM Enhancer - each has a capacity of 4,250 TEU (twenty-foot equivalent unit) and were owned by FSL Trust since they were built in 2008.

FSL Eminence and FSL Elixir were re-delivered to FSL Trust upon completion of their charters with Yang Ming Marine in May and June 2020 respectively, and will be delivered to their buyers as soon as practically possible, the manager said.

YM Enhancer is chartered to Yang Ming Marine until October 2020, and will be delivered to its buyers upon completion of the charter.

On Tuesday, FSL Trust posted a 34.7 per cent drop in net profit to US$1.33 million for Q2 FY2020 ended June. The lower earnings came on the back of an 11 per cent fall in revenue to US$14.5 million for the quarter.

The bottom line was boosted by a US$2.7 million gain from the sale of two product tankers and a crude oil tanker in March. FSL Trust said then that it is continuing to pare its debt and improve its capital structure.
2nd qtr result will have another good result ?
this is base on the total earning divide by the nos of share.......
I see this one as a good dividend counter for long run
I see this one as a good dividend counter for long run

Can explain why is excellent? becos earning drops compared to last year and only 0.38 cents.. they giving 1.5 cents which is not substainable right? they buying new vessel .. they dun have any more vessel to sell for profit right?

US 1.5C DPU looks once-off (unlikely to be routine as in the past). This quarter is paid out of retained cash, most of which contributed from disposed vessels.
