Strategic reserve release is a joke..the volume is not large enough to shake market for long..just a drop in the ocean of oil..so to speak..

OPEC's joint ministerial monitoring committee was delayed from Tuesday to Thursday. OPEC+ will also meet on Thursday, when a policy decision will likely be announced on whether to adjust its plan to increase output by 400,000 barrels per day in January and beyond.

If I were OPEC, I can do "wait and see" tactic. Delay decision by 1 month, no cut no increase. Just don't make decision. Postpone until Jan 2022...see how Omicron plays out. Just by not doing anything and postpone 1 month is already enough to push oil back above 75 convincingly...if they cut back, see above 80. I don't think they will go ahead with planned increase of 400000....more like do nothing...
