Not sure if anything is brewing but the share price is moving to its true value and still a good 3.5% dividend gain at current price.

Something is brewing...
Hopefully Starhub will be taken private or Keppel buy over to merge with M1.
Singtel can move in to buy over Starhub cable business to consolidate all cable business too.

I' ve considered time and again whether to buy this for dividend.
Guess I' ll stick to Singtel even if lesser yield.
Trade not just yield

I don' t know why Starhub does this. May have to ask the secretary.
Maybe from the general differences below (I am sure you already know) you can figure out specifically to Starhub.
In summary, while AGMs are regular gatherings for broader company matters, EGMs are called into action when urgency demands immediate attention. Both play vital roles in corporate governance and decision-making .
Maybe from the general differences below (I am sure you already know) you can figure out specifically to Starhub.
Let&rsquo s explore the  key differences  between an  Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM)  and an  Annual General Meeting (AGM):
-
Frequency:- EGM: Held  as needed, usually when urgent matters arise that cannot wait until the next AGM.
- AGM: Conducted  annually  by companies to meet legal requirements and discuss routine matters.
-
Purpose:- EGM:
- Addresses  specific and urgent issues  requiring shareholder approval.
- Examples: Changes to the company&rsquo s constitution, election of directors, or other critical business decisions.
- AGM:
- Reviews the company&rsquo s performance, financial statements, and other regular matters.
- Elects directors, approves dividends, and discusses strategic plans.
- EGM:
-
Initiation:- EGM:
- Can be called by the  board of directors  or  shareholders.
- Shareholders can requisition an EGM if they hold a certain percentage of shares.
- AGM:
- Scheduled by the company&rsquo s management.
- No requisition required it&rsquo s a standard annual event.
- EGM:
-
Notice Period:- EGM:
- Must be held within a specified time (usually not later than 2 months) after receiving a requisition.
- Requires written notice to all members (typically 14 days).
- AGM:
- Notice period is usually longer (as per the company&rsquo s constitution).
- Members receive advance notice (often 21 days or more).
- EGM:
-
Agenda:- EGM:
- Focuses on the specific issue(s) for which it was convened.
- Limited agenda related to urgent matters.
- AGM:
- Broader agenda covering routine items.
- Includes financial reports, director elections, and other standard topics.
- EGM:
-
Voting:- EGM:
- Shareholders vote on the specific issue(s) discussed.
- Decisions require approval by a majority.
- AGM:
- Voting on various matters, including director appointments and dividend declarations.
- Decisions follow standard voting procedures.
- EGM:

Does anyone know why, technically, the things to be voted on at the upcoming EGM cannot be just put in as agenda items at the EGM instead? Why is an EGM needed?
more to come

Personally I don' t like targets, partly because share price moves don' t just depend on fundamentals but also catalysts. Also events move quickly, and targets should naturally move with them so historic targets quickly become out of date. Hence I think the analysis and reasoning is more important than the target.
My reasoning would be that things look better now for Starhub than any time in the last five years. And yet the current price is far below the 5 year high.

any potential target ?
The stars are aligning - the next year looks very shiok for investors.
looks like heading to 13 series, due to possible consolidation, dyodd, been laggard for years, timely to head up even to 2 and up
pretty good momentum too
