SCI should have considered left right centre prior acquisition. Market probably is digesting all the perceived "negative" news. This level at below $6 will be accumulating.

| Sembcorp, the Singapore-listed energy group majority owned by Temasek, has confirmed media reports that it is in talks to take over Australian electricity and gas retailer Alinta Energy.
Media reports suggest the deal is expected to to worth A$4.3bn (?2.5bn).
Chow Tai Fook, controlled by Hong Kong billionaire Henry Cheng, paid A$5.2bn for Alinta Energy in 2017. It subsequently sold Alinta?s West Australian assets for around A$1.8bn.

The key consideration is whether SCI need to raise funds via share placement,,rights issue or borrow from the banks to acquire the Alinta. How much profit does it contribute to the bottom line when compared the amount of monies invested.  Will market view this positively once the detaills are announced?
my feel is that in any big aquisition, share price tends to head lower
in near to mid term. SCI is for long term to realise the benefits of the
aquisition

Refer to Share price/Net core profit : A low ratio, such as anything under 12x for established, healthy businesses, often suggests the stock is inexpensive and potentially a good value investment. Current share price indicates that currently the market has not yet recognized the full value of the SCI's operating earnings, presenting an opportunity for growth. Specific to mature utility company Alinta Energy, the normal ratio of purchase price/EBITDA should be 5x to 6x as recommended by standard industry average. Given highly expected acquisition deal of A$4.3bn out this week as reported by media, it works out to be about 6x.

Heaviest 2nd short positions of 30 STI stocks. Hedge funds might already have full stomach. It is pending Alinta Energy deals out as early as this Thursday. Be careful of trading.
