So did he ask Pakistan to request him to extend the ceasefire so that he can TACO gracefully?
CNA reported that the truce is extended until a unified proposal from Iran is ready.
So no new deadline? The ceasefire is until Iran' s proposal is ready?

0.96, the next milestone at

Just buy abit and if continues to go up to say 90 cents, you collect some meal vouchers.
If goes down, just cut loss and move on to another trade.

today, JP Morgan upgraded UOL. Reasons are not convincing, but it is what it is.
Therefore, it seems CDL has also jumped today.

Anything lower than that means many investors who chased will lose money.
If offer price is 45 cts or lower tons of recent investors will lose big money.
So going private by itself is just Part 1.

If hold longer, dividends plus capital gains will outperform FD interest rate by manifolds.
People who park cash in FD or even SSBs, you are far better off parking it in SingTel.

Even if the share price continues to slip, the 200MA stands as a strong support. At worst, it may correct another ~7% if it tests that level.
For those prepared to hold long term. as bro wavehunter suggested, just buy and do not worry about short-term price fluctuations..

What is the worst that can happen from here ?
Trump carries out his threat to bomb all of Iran' s bridges and power plants plunging Iran into darkness and back to the Stone Age.
Iran retaliates by striking the oil and energy and water infrastructure of the Gulf countries sending oil price towards $150 per barrel.
Now, isn' t all this already known by the market ?
If it happens, everyone will just have to make do.
Iran will have to make do without power for years while it tries to repair/rebuild its power plants.
Trump will have to make do with no agreement coming out of this war and not getting the enriched uranium.
Gulf countries will have to repair/rebuild their infrastructures too.
The rest of the world will have to bite the bullet too and put up with the pain of higher oil prices.
That' s the worst that can happen and the market already know that.
What remains to be done is for everyone to heal and recover...to repair and rebuild.... to get back up to speed.
Hence, market will at most pullback, not freefall. Market will heal and rebound. And eventually recover.
What is clear is Trump dont want to put boots on the ground for a land invasion. Becoz of mid-term elections
coming in Nov, this option is not available to Trump. If this year is not a mid-term election year, then maybe.
So a land invasion is out of the question. What' s left is to strike Iran from the air until there is nothing left to
hit. After that Trump can declare victory and say US has taken out Iran' s air force, navy, anti-aircraft sites,
missile storage sites, missile manufacturing sites etc etc and that Iran will not be a threat for the next 20 yrs.
So the Middle East will have peace for 20 yrs. Becoz Iran will be too weak to threaten its neighbours. Iran
will have to spend the next 20 yrs just to rebuild its damaged infrastructure and economy. Iran can meantime
still launch drones and missiles at Israel and Gulf nations. Until they run out of missiles and drones. Then it
will be all " quiet at the western front" .
Actually, Trump can either stop hitting Iran or finish off the job and hit whatever vital military targets the US wants to take out.
But dont hit bridges and power plants. Becoz that is a war crime. If Trump gives the order, he is guilty of war crimes. And every
general, every figther or bomber pilot and every American serviceman or servicewoman who carries out the illegal order is also
guilty of war crimes. So hit what' s remaining of Iran' s legitimate targets and if there isn' t anymore, end the air strikes now.
Next is find a way no matter what to stop Iran from attacking merchant ships and tankers sailing through the Straits. Every ship
other than those heading for Iranian ports will be allowed to sail in and sail out. Iran is using fast boats to attack merchant ships
and tankers. I wonder if the US can also have fast boats on patrol inside the Gulf to protect and escort passing ships. Or use
Apache helicopters to blow Iran' s fast boats out of the water. That shouldnt be difficult for the US. Once this is achieved, oil
price will revert to the $60 to $70 region. The world can accept that.
At the same time, maintain the naval blockage. All ships heading for Iranian ports will be refused entry. Everyone else can sail
in and sail out. What this means is Iran will not be able to sell oil or gas or anything else to anybody. Ships carrying stuffs for
Iran' s economy will also not be able to enter the Gulf to deliver those stuffs to Iran. Without oil and gas revenue, Iran' s already
crippled economy will be choked to death. Iran wont be able to hold out forever. Maybe for years. But will eventually bleed dry.
Iran may have an army. But if you dont pay your soldiers. they wont stay and fight for you anymore. That' s the reality.
So there is no need to keep striking Iran. Once military targets are taken out, air strikes can stop. Find a way to protect shipping
in and out of the Straits. Whack Iran' s fast boats and whatever else they use to attack ships. Continue the naval blockage and
starve Iran' s economy till they give up. So no need to end the war officially. Let this state of affairs be the new normal. Kick the
can further down the road and wait for Iran to bleed out. If there is intelligence gathered to suggest Iran is working on a nuclear
bomb, hit them again with massive airstrikes to frustrate them, to stop them or at least to slow them down. If Trump cannot get
Iran to hand over their enriched uranium, then starve their economy till they bleed out. |
