hedging is for ppl who are unsure of their shorts, and these shorts are exactly what punting is

Conman      ( Date: 21-Nov-2020 10:13) Posted:

Not only for this counter, any short at this time must be hedged with good stocks one intend to keep for long term. Peices are going up and down violently with no reasons. Just look at SPH, Medtec, SingTel, First Resources, Golden Agri ...you will know what I mean.

Then please counter my points with facts and logic. No need to scream with so much of hatred in all your posts.

Shorting a counter without fully understanding its core business is punting

Conman      ( Date: 21-Nov-2020 07:58) Posted:

Of course danger. Zom Bee has become a punting stock now. But did you punt other Zom Bees like SPH and many others? You huat more if you did. To play Zom Bees, you punt, not invest.

It is a sad state of affairs for these Zom Bees.

Grab succeeded in burning money yes.. monopolise the ride hailing market? - failed terribly
you know why, the govt will nvr allow it to happen

Conman      ( Date: 21-Nov-2020 06:44) Posted:

Uber is one of the major share holders in Grab, and the CEO of Uber is a Board Member in Grab. Their biggest shares holder SoftBank had decided Uber left S.E.A. to Grab. If Grab fails to get listed by 2023 Uber make a return to S.E.A.

Hence the modus operandi of Uber and Grab are the same. In the most simplified description it is :

2 Enter market as tech innovator to capture market by burning money and shouting slogans.

2. Expand market shares to make itself indispansible and try to monopolise the market by burning more money.

3. Turn profitable by changing fares to market supply and demand.

3. Get listed.

We have witness the process. Can we imagine a world without Uber and Singapore without Grab?

The fact that Grab announced that its current fares will be maintained only for the next 6 months is a signal that Stage 2 is about to complete and Stage 3 about to begin.

Riders have no choice despite the coming fares increase. Grab app is now the preferred app of all drivers and riders. Because of better fares, more drivers will want use it to the extent that riders will find difficulty getting rides if they use other apps. All other apps including CDG app will be marginalised. More taxi drivers will use Grab app because they can get their riders more easily. More will jump ship to PHV because GrabTaxis' fares are lower than GrabCars' fares. More CDG taxi drivers who still want to drive taxis will cut costs by jumping to smaller companies. New drivers will choose to drive PHV instead of taxis for obvious reasons.

In this trade, no drivers mean no cars. No cars mean no riders and that means no drivers. It is a vicious cycle. The one that enjoys the crirical mass will grow on momentum. Vice versa for the ones who have no critical mass.

Whether I am right or wrong, we will know in only about a year's time.

Correction : previous posts, not precious posts

You are the one ignorant. You need to read my precious posts to understand bus and taxis. I wont repeat. As for Grab, wait for my explanation tomorrow. I am just too tired and drunk to write now.

Looks like besides being ignorant of CDG core business, you are also not very clear how Grab is doing in the ride hailing sector......

Grab&rsquo s move into food delivery and financial services, like payments, comes as transport-hailing companies &ndash notorious for being either low-margin or loss-making &ndash look to expand outside ride-hailing for growth and profitability.

At the current pricing model, its ride hailing business is just money losing. What happens when it increase fares, will demand increase?

Haha maybe vaccine news has changed everything:

One million tourists will start 'pouring in' everyday and they will take buses and taxis. Bus fares will no longer go to LTA but CDG. Taxi fares wiill no longer go to taxi drivers but CDG. Some tourists will take MRT and the fares earned by CDG is double of what it needs for maintaining the train system.

Another change today was CCCS lifted Grab's punitive restriction and Grab immediately announced a 30 cents plateform fee. It will maintain its fares for the next 6 months, meaning probably a fare increase which will make it profitable to prepare for listing. Good or bad for CDG? I will explain after drinking. Now with friends at coffee shop.

Watch this space!
