If it does break $9.8, next support level is $9 and if a major global correction then $7.65 to $8.

Past few days dbs and uob share have been holding quite well. Ocbc has been very weak. Technically, to give confidence to the rights subscription, ocbc should hold up but it is tanking before the rights start trading next monday. Tomolo may be worse if panic selling start before the rights start trading.

If the STI has a sharp correction to 3000 together with hang seng and dow jones from 17000 to 16000, uob to $20 dbs to $16, ocbc just might see $7.65 being the weakest of the 3 banks. SIA, singtel SPH are very resillient stocks which will not drop much, hence the most volatile are the banks and the weakest among is OCBC. Remember the dow jones, s&p and much of european stocks are at historical high and have not had any major corrections for years. Unfortunately, singapore stocks did not join the uptrend but will follow the downtrend.

There is a limit to which share price of strong profitable company will allow their share to trade in normal circumstances. After this, they will enter the market to buy-back if they deem it as grossly under-valued. Moreover, banks are big capital stocks and they will always compare themselves against their peers. If the price is too low and under-valued, some other financial companies will take advantage to accumulate it and if they have enough financial strength, they can even bid for it. I doubt OCBC will allow it.

If ocbc drop below $7.65, shareholders who subscribe to the rights would have bought a lemon.

can somebody pse help me to understand.

i hv only 1 lot of OCBC and hv no intention of making up the 8 lots for the rights issue.

i understand that this being the case, i wd probably be awarded the rights issue on a pro-rated basis.

then what would i do with the pro-rated allocation which probably will not amount to much.

i stand corrected and hope for some enligtenment to decide my next course of action..tx much
