Can expect the Bears to use this as an ecuse to mount a bear raid........and perhaps running into the Hunter' s (Bull' s) Trap.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/01/02/china-reports-december-caixin-manufacturing-purchasing-managers-index.html
China' s Caixin PMI shows December manufacturing contraction. Analysts had expected slight expansion
- Results of a private survey on China' s manufacturing for the month of December showed factory activity contracted more than expected amid a trade dispute with the U.S.
Will the Bulls slaugther the remaining Bears tonight by forcing them to close high or will they give chance and allow an exit opportunity before they push. ....... up down or up down up....... an intra day of around +300 and -300...., swing of 600+ points would be nice.
Beaten  down counters that got sold  down in low vol should be good long choices.  IMO
Dow futures from -40+ to now +100+...........
Ironically, this kind of turmoil and spooked markets is pushing Trump to make a Trade Deal with China.  IN fact, looking at the economics signs and markets in both countries,  it does seem that both Leaders want a Trade Deal now more than before....IMO
We were  positioned for a bounce based on TA and FA, with the trigger event being the Fed meeting on 18 & 19 December.  The market was really positive with Dow climbing to a high od +380, just 20 points short of our 400 to 700 pt expectation.  Alas, Powell dissapoints in his statement and poofs....  Dow  corrected by  -2600+ (including the intraday +380+ points) in 5 and half days, much to the delights of Bears and Volatility Traders.

Borrowing will become more expensive for the borrowers with or without rate rises due to lower liquidity.  Cash rich banks and companies will be in an advantage position.

There is a tigthening of credit and liquidity globally, with the US and now EU signalling the end to their QE programs and the unwinding of their assets holdings.  The local property market are surprisingly resilient.  The only uncertainty now for the banks are the impacts of the US China Trade war.

For the record, Powell statement cause the Dow to correct by over -2000+ points in 5 and a half trading days.......this probably make him one of the top person in history to cause the vaporization of wealth (globally) in the shortest span of time.

This year end markets were basically hijacked by the Market Bears while the markets Bulls call it a Year earlier than usual this year.  Now that their vacations have ended and the Market Bulls are back, I expect the markets in general should be less volatile.
Powell choose to be remembered as the Man who pushed the Market over the Cliff with his hawkish statement after the 25 basis point rate rise.  I bet he did not expect the extreme market reactions that followed......... keke.  This should give him pause in future rate rises.  IMO
