Grab is no longer giving incentives to both riders and drivers. It charges 20% of the fares and 30c platform fee for every booking. It is free to increase fares and platform fees anytime but has promised to hold for 6 months.
With this, there is no reason not to make money. If it is not making money, then it has to see where the money has gone to, ie, R&D, marketing, infra, staff, other projects, and see whether these are justifiable and can be adjusted.
If revenue from ride hailing and food delivery has to be spent on setting up the digibank, then it will continue to lose for a few more years.
Grab will be here and when it is listed, funds will chase and not before long it will be an index stock. Npw it is wprth US15b. When listed, hpw mich will it be worth?
If CDG harhbours the same attitude as some of you here and hope Grab will die because it is not making money (so far), and just shake legs and pay-correct every month, I pray for them.

Softbank is not a founder of Uber and Grab but a controlling shareholder. Maybe it chairs the Grab board (yet to check on this).
Grab came into S.E.A. after Uber did. What happened next was decided by the board or directors of of both companies. Hence Uber is everywhere in the world except where Grab is, and except China who will never allow a US company to become in total control of its people's point to point commuting and collecting its people's data at the same time.

Firstly, the ' revenue' u mentioned certainly doesn' t come from its ride hailing business which is loss making in the first place
Secondly, are u sure the other projects will be making good money for sure?? Many other banks will be issued digital banking license soon. Standard Chartered has already obtained one, and besides it already have a digital banking platform called MOX running in hongkong. Is Grab able to compete well without prior experience in this sector?
