Not necessarily. The issuance of the new shares has already been priced in when the shares turned ex-rights. The only other factor is that people who received their rights and excess rights shares may decide to sell their shares and weaken the price although i think this is unlikely

Wow! Thats a lot of OCBC shs!
My guess is, your original holding was 67,060 shs hence yr entitlement was 8,382.5 (rounded down to 8,382). Without any excess, yr new shareholding would hv been 75,442. Initially, in the first round of excess shares allocation, they would have rounded up to 75,500. Then, because they still had excess shares, they subsequently rounded yr shareholding to 76,500.

Just checked. My entitlement is 8382. Allocated 9440. That means I got 1058,sorry not 1118. That is because I think I have 60-odd lots.
I got 674 excess rights.
Tanakow & alexmay, maybe both of u can recheck your figures to make sure u r not including your original rights entitlements? I m an ex investment banker and from experience, it is very unlikely that anyone will get more than 1,000 in excess rights shares unless the take-up rate is very poor and the rights issue is badly under-subscribed (i.e. Before including excess applications). Furthermore the same allocation rule has to be applied to all shareholders with the exception of substantial shareholders who have lowest priority for excess applications.
This means OCBC price will drop on Monday?
I got 1731 excess, quite generous

Thanks. I checked last nite and nothing credited to CDP nor was there any refund to my bank acct. Have to wait for monday then...happy weekend everyone.

Guys, question. When and how can we know if our excess rights application is successful? The docs only say it will start the date of issuance on 26-Sep...is this also the time we will know excess rights application status?
