Unlikely to be due to this . The aquisition is insignificant .
Alliance market cap is only US $1.8b and a 30% stake works out to be only US$0.54b ( SGD 700m ) . Thats a paltry 0.5% of DBS market cap of US $100b .
The dividens DBS is paying in 2025 is around SGD $8.5b ( 2.83 x $3 ) more than 10 times the amount it needs to aquire a 30% stake in Alliance .

up by 3.5%, what is there to query? if its a abt to close shop company then sgx will more likely to issue a query. for the dragon head in sgx, they cant do anything to query the deep pockets bbs motive to ranp up dbs.
