This is latest news.
However, 2 yards involved.
How the distribution between 2 is unknown.
How many of the 24 are optional also not stated.
Probably have to wait till offical signing of contracts before details made known.

Lendlease Reit acquires 70% of PLQ Mall
Deal will be financed by proposed private placement of units priced at S$0.597 to S$0.616 each

[SINGAPORE] The manager of Lendlease Global Commercial Real Estate Investment Trust (Lendlease Reit) said on Wednesday (Nov 5) that it signed an agreement to acquire 70 per cent of the units in PLQM Trust, which owns 100 per cent of PLQ Mall.

The vendor is understood to be sovereign wealth fund Abu Dhabi Investment Authority. The remaining 30 per cent of the trust is owned by the Reit&rsquo s sponsor, Australian-listed Lendlease Corp.

About S$270 million or more will be raised from a private placement of units priced at S$0.597 to S$0.616 each to fund the acquisition. The manager of the Reit said this move will help to fully finance the proposed transaction.

The issue price range represents a discount of between about 3.5 and 6.5 per cent to the volume weighted average price of S$0.6386 per unit in Lendlease Reit.

The deal is largely made up of a total equity consideration of S$234.3 million. The acquisition fee payable to the manager is around S$6.2 million, and other acquisition-related fees and expenses are valued at around S$6.3 million.

The agreed property value of PLQ Mall is S$885 million, at a 2.1 per cent or S$19 million discount to the appraised value by Knight Frank. The net property income yield is 4.5 per cent, based on the agreed property value.

Post-acquisition and completion of the Jem office divestment by Nov 12, Lendlease Reit&rsquo s total asset value will increase to S$3.9 billion, with Singapore representing 89 per cent of its portfolio. Gearing will stand at 38.3 per cent on a pro forma basis, while distribution per unit is expected to increase 2.5 per cent.

The manager said that the enlarged portfolio will be well-positioned to deliver consistent growth, with the proportion of essential services expected to rise from around 57.7 per cent to 59.9 per cent of the retail gross rental income.

In addition, the suburban retail component will expand to 62.7 per cent, supported by consumer demand for essential services and the stable, recurring income generated by well-allocated suburban malls.

Indeed. All the major shipping lines have already seemed to have firmed up their sizeable newbuilding orders for the year. My guess is that YZJSB couldn' t commit to an early delivery date as their yards are all running at full capacity till like 2028/2029. Price wise, USD2.3b for 12 ships seems like the norm for China newbuild pricing, unless YZJSB quoted higher. Having insufficient yard capacity to undertake orders till like 3 to 4 years later is actually a positive, but I guess the market doesn' t see it that way. In the long term, YZJSB' s excellent financials should still prevail.

I doubt that YZJSB won the contract unless Maersk decided to add more than 12 newbuilds. The 4/11 report should be referring to this previous report:
https://www.tradewindsnews.com/containers/maersk-slims-yards-selection-to-two-in-hunt-for-lng-dual-fuel-newbuildings/2-1-1879508.
YZJSB might have been looking to win this contract to help them hit their annual target but I guess they have to look elsewhere.

The business times report seems inaccurate. Blackrock sold 27m+ shares and not 37m+ shares. In the previous YZJSB declaration on 31/10, it was indicaed that Blackrock actually acquired 10m+ shares on 29/10.
I have a feeling that the negative news could be because YZJSB lost out to New Times for the Maersk order of 12 nos. of LNG dual fuel container ship newbuildings worth USD2.3b. This is just my personal opinion. ddyod  smiley

Probably not, These are very big FI, they do not normally work to earn pittance and so such quick swing trades.  If you do a google search you will find :

BlackRock has acquired shares in Yangzijiang Shipbuilding, but the specific price was not disclosed for the most recent transaction on January 3, 2025. However, other transactions have occurred where the price was in the range of S$1.980-2.030, SGD 1.920-2.020, and SGD 1.920-1.980 on various dates in April 2025, according to 扬 子 江 船 业 ( 控 股 ) 有 限 公 司 stock data.
  • January 3, 2025 Transaction: The price for the 10.8 million shares acquired was not made public in the  Business Times report.
  • April 2025 Transactions: Yangzijiang Shipbuilding Holdings Ltd data shows the following price ranges for other transactions:
    • April 15, 2025: S$1.980&ndash S$2.030
    • April 11, 2025: S$1.920&ndash S$2.020
    • April 10, 2025: S$1.920&ndash S$1.980
So ideally seeing the trade of 38.5 milliuon shares, and lets say on average they made a profit of 1.25 . this would amount to USD 48.125M profit. So lets say after fees settlement etc they woudl book a profit of around USD 47-47.5M. This is very good for them to prop up their cash holding and maintain " margin" on account without their brokers forced into selling.

Again. this is just one narrative to be done. After earnings we will see if there is indeed some negetive news thats results into some serious correction. If we look at past year history the chances of negetive news is less.
