Not surprising coming from you. The quality of your assumption, observation and conclusions is consistent with those for Sino Grandness and Garden Fresh.
The main point from Sino Grandness' recent announcement is that the outstanding bonds were restructured into preference shares. Preference share shareholders rank after bonholders in terms of assets distribution when the company liquidates. Bondholders will get 100% of the amount owing before preference share shareolders get anything.

The Nextinsight article is unlikely to be a paid report.
If Sino Grandness issues a summary on the 8-page nnouncement via SGX, it is free. Why should they pay? Also SGX has a much wider audience than Nextinsight.
Loquatfan' s article really benefited a lot of investors who did not read or understand the 8 page announcement by Sino Grandness.

Over 40,000 shares done at last trading minutes.
Perhaps Contra players selling out on last trading day, but still managed to closed at 24cts.
Price check:
23.5cts - 24cts
Difference: +0.5cts
Volume: 1200+
Status: Listed.
Hypocrites still can't do much to bring price down.
Talk is just worth that much.
Real investors refused to let price dip down.
Cheers

I ve same views as you guys. Bond restructuring is a good deal and company is in better position now, financially n in terms of bargain powers.
Why no big pump on the stock? I think, many retail investors are waiting for more concrete evidence or news from Sino Grandness (to announce on SGX).
Just same, there's no more dumping on the stock, like the previous months during pre rights issue.
Cheers.

Anyway, I realise something about nextinsight.
It look like a platform for interest parties to promote a stock. Observe frequent occasion when an positive article about certain stock start to surface on that website, after a moment, there were someone pumping the stock.
A stock price movement not only affect by textbook analyses of fundamentals. Also more often due to interest parties stiring........so those textbook theory aside, what is the chance of another pump coming?

Like to share some views here too..
Yes, agree that the restructure is already done and It could have been a ..
no deal vs bad deal vs good deal.
In this instance, the deal is definitely good for the company.
I was asking why the bondholders' support for the company are so strong?
Are they now taking more or less risk?
Are there not so many short reports and rumors about the company and its CEO?
Isn' t not the IPO application lapsed and yet the bondholders keep their faith?
I think its all about bargaining power.
The bondholders is likely to assess that company is progressing well, its business plan intact and possibly coming to achieve their target.
And of course, the company must also have the resources to redeem its bonds when going into the negotiation.
This episode is a very good development and highly significant and this i do agree with the article writer. Cheers.

My view :
1. The bond restructure is definitely good for company vs no deal, as it buys time. Note the comparison is vs no deal. In absolute term, we would not know if this is sufficient to bring company out of woods or not.
2. Don't read too much in 'bond holder has confidence'. The bonds holder were after equity since day one, but just put on extra protection. I am not saying that it is no good, but that these bond holders are not usual bond holder who are extremely caution on risk. These are equity investor who are willing to take risk.

Abstract from the article..
Second bond restructuring, in 2017
The strong liquidity resources might have strengthened Garden Fresh' s bargaining position, resulting in the following outcomes:
(a) Garden Fresh will redeem SB2
(b) the outstanding bonds will be replaced by preference shares
(c) another 30 months given to Garden Fresh to apply for listing. Redemption of the preference shares will be either at 9% or 7% depending on certain outcomes.
The interest saving is substantial.  Redeeming the outstanding bonds (aggregate principal amount of RMB 210m) on 28 Feb 2017 at 25% and 20% would cost RMB 535m.  On the other hand, redeeming preference shares on the same date would have cost RMB 317m at 9%, or RMB 290m at 7%.
Garden Fresh is now in a better position to redeem, as it takes every 10 years for an amount to double at 7% (whereas doubling happens every three years at 25%, and every four years at 20%).
Replacing bonds by preference shares is a major concession from bondholders as shares are riskier from bondholders' standpoint.
CIDB, holder of all 2011 bonds, has made an even bigger concession than 2012 bondholders. It will not be compensated for relinquishing the higher interest rate of 25% relative to the 20% interest rate given up 2012 bondholders.
If Garden Fresh gets listed, preference shareholders will own 16.88% of Garden Fresh, higher than the 14.7% agreed to in the earlier restructuring. This is likely to reciprocate the substantial concessions made by the bondholders.
Conclusion
Garden Fresh has grown its business aggressively and, at the same time, gradually pared down its liabilities.
The recent, second restructuring is significant. The replacement of high-interest bonds by lower-interest preference shares reflects creditors' growing confidence in Garden Fresh.
One of the key observation from the recent restructuring of bonds:
Bondholders exchanged bonds for  preference shares.
In a company liquidation, creditors including bondholders rank above preference shareholders in the distribution of the net assets of the company. Creditors get 100% of the amounts owed to them (if there are enought funds) before distribution to preference shareholders commences.
To take on this increase in risk for the bondholders, bondholders might have reconsidered the points raised by cccx123 in his 07:35 post this morning.
cccx123, you used the words bond defaults. You might have misrepresented and this is very misleading. Or do you mean bond restructuring?
