Anyone know if Hapag exercise the option for the Six vessels in this contract. It was reported after USTR announced the port fees, Hapag went to Korea yard for the six vessels but later resume negotiation with YZJ bcos Korea too expensive.

This is old story. According to two days ago Tradewinds news, German liner Hapag-Lloyd has shifted its newbuilding focus from large container ships to feeder vessels, placing two orders totalling around $1.58bn.

6 Nov 2024 - Hapag-Lloyd has signed two contracts with two Chinese shipyards for a total of 24 new container ships. Of these, 12 newbuildings - each with yangzijiang shipbuilding and New Times Shipbuilding
