there is a wide perception that airlines industry will not be a good investment...margins are thin and competition...not need to mention

google to see if this is true

airasia...started at 1.30...shot to 3 plus.....now back to 1.50

If MERs fizzle out, the airlines will make a strong comeback on price rise.    They are the main beneficiaries of a lower oil price.

However, everyone is now concerned about Thailand, whether they can contain the spread.      The Oman chappie exposed 80 persons, and hopefully they can be tracked and quarantined.  But so strange, his sons not affected, maybe he' s not a spreader, let' s hope so.

Is expected that Mers will reach Singapore whether we like it or not. LHL also mentioned it not too long ago. Just a matter of time airline shares will tumble like SARS days. Good luck

As for foreign workers, I think we should just send them home, and ban them from ever coming back to SG.

Now, don u think we will have a virus free country?

I oso think I am super lorso.    But I must say this.

SG PLEASE BLOODY COVER YOUR STINKING MOUTH WHEN YOU COUGH OR SNEEZE.

I seriously think the govt should make all those who violate the above to do community work, donning a t shirt that says:    " I AM SORRY I AM AN IDIOT TO SPREAD VIRUSES BY BEING INCONSIDERATE" .

But why would I think SG would contain MERs if it comes this way?

Because SG is highly strung up.

Yes. It' s in the news.

SG has advance warning, govt has already put into place all the necessary details to contain MERs.

Basically, what needs to contain MERs is very very simple.      Catch the spreader, contain all possible spreaders by quarantine, handcuff them to their bed post if necessary.    Then there will be no more deaths and the spreaders simply die off.

S Korea couldn' t do this, because they did not take it upon themselves to do the handcuffing, they were negligent.    And their healthcare system didn' t help as spreaders go " doctor hunting" , and emergency wards become super spreader grounds.

  Oh yah.

On nosocomial infection.    One doctor told me plainly, " HOW TO PROOF IT?"

To me, it' s not a matter of having to proof anything.  If it is institutionalised, hospitals will get serious about infecting innnocent patients with more viruses and illnesses.  To me it' s plain common sense and decency that when one is sick and goes to a hospital for treatment, getting another virus is totally unacceptable.

I think we need to fine hospitals that are negligent.

If you have one illness, going to the hospital to cure that ailment shouldn' t result in getting you infected with a virus totally unrelated to your illness.    Right?

And guess what.  That' s what is happening all over.

NOSOCOMIAL INFECTION.

Now tell me.  Does SG have respect for human life?

If I look back at the price chart, it' s SARs that affected SIA price more than Lehman.    This is a fact.

As for MERs, it' s a different virus.    It' s not virulent, but kill rate is extremely high.      How to interpret and put it to layman' s terms?      It doesn' t spread easily.  But once it does, it kills faster than SARs.

Spreading is the key.      Kill rate is a scare.        That' s how I interpret it.        Korea allowed the virus to spread because of culture, because of the structure of healthcare, it' s very well documented.    Basically, Asia sad to say, and don' t blast me for saying so, has no respect for human life.        Yes.  It' s the truth.

And so, how is this going to affect SIA?

In Korea, the culture assisted MERs proliferation, yes that is the sad truth.

In Thailand, I don think so.    I seriously don think MERs will spread in Thailand.

In SG, likely it will be contained easily.

Why did it spread rampantly in S Korea?        Simple truth.          It' s the structure firstly, healthcare insurance allows the ppl to go " doctor shopping" correct me if I am wrong.    And hospitals are always " full up" due to the healthcare insurance thingy.  And I must add one final most impt statement.    Noone in S Korea is concerned about nocosomial infection.      Once they put penalties on noscosomial infection, things will change drastically.

Why in SG it will be contained?    Because it is the will of the govt and Singaporeans are exemplary in carrying out the will of the govt.    Not good, neither is it bad.    It depends if the will is kind or evil.
