Yes, hedge funds utilised existing nominees account held by banks and brokerage firms. I think they are desperate wanting to sell at lower prices in 'innovative' way just before AGM for approval on Alinta Energy acquistion by SCI

But rather utilizing their existing nominees acct and
pit against others.
And all these can' t be indefinitely .....the scripts need
to be returned and replenished bk.
As long the stock is fundamentally sound, no need to worry
too much ....

Hope you will be correct. Recently I was told that a few Institutional funds have been suspected to have sold directly to the hedge fund (short seller) at a lower price (a discount to the market price) for high rewards (which go to institutional funds's profit at the expenses of their own clients, which would offer an artificial advantage to the hedge fund and be detrimental to the institutional fund's own investors. Former and latter are to be flagged as a breach of fiduciary duty and market manipulation respectively. Recently, as announced in ST newspaper, many retirees complaint against the fund managers who did not perform well and did not act in the clients' interest. 🤫 🤫 🤫
