Just sell lock stock and barrel and return the proceeds based on so called its NAV to the shareholders.  That will boost the return to the shareholders instead of trading at current share price.

Yes Bro LoudShout, Chasen has sold their CZE business which is part of boosting shareholders' return.

If the NAV is so way above its share price, the Co could buy back the share and gives better return to shareholder instead of incurring losses on continuing operations or worst new businesses.

If its share is trading well below its NAV, better to delist as it reflects that the investors are not confident of the mgt delivering values.
If this co could do well, it would have done so with all the supply chains moving out of China.
All hypes and sinking below its imaginary NAV

if you are holding this stock for trading or investnebt - better to liquidate if your reading is so negative about the Chasen.
As for me, I have a small investment in Chasen and intend to see through all these development.
Holding on... that' s all.

whether taking the co private or sell them lock stock and barrel and return the cash to shareholders is better than betting on the remaining business or new business.  If the co could not cover its capital expenditures and even befor this, its returns have been pathethic..

No need to sell all business and wind down.
The business is still legit and the company doing fine.
The anticipated loss this reporting is mainly due to non-recurring property renovation.

With the sale of City Zone Express, huge funds will flow in.
The NAV is high.
So perhaps should consider taking the company private.
Delisting from SGX is in vogue nowadays.
Our SGX is pathetic when it comes to valuation.
Explains why companies are not listing here and those listed are delisting in throes - not good for SGX and MAS and Singapore as a financial hub

The Co should consider selling all its operations instead of incurring losses from continuing operations.  And return the cash to shareheholders.
This is far better than the share languishing in investors confidence and tracing far below its NAV which means that the co will continue to whittle away its cash from its continuing ops.
This will save the miseries of the shareholders and the management can be freed to pursue their own personal interests.

Sorry hor. If all business is sold and money returned to shareholders, the directors/mgt would be unemployed and no more big pay packets every month. They have to take care of their own interests first.

Chasen flags FY2024 loss as logistics property is being rebuilt

Logistics company Chasen Holdings 5NV -0.97% has flagged that it expects to report a loss for its year ended March, as it was not able to book income as its key property here is being redeveloped.

18 Jalan Besut, which is used by Chasen as its corporate office, is being rebuilt into a new integrated logistics hub that combines next door 16 Jalan Besut.

Separately, Chasen, on March 1, announced it is selling a group of logistics assets across the region to Switzerland' s Kuehne + Nagel for $67.4 million and will pocket a net proceed of $57.2 million.

This transaction is pending completion.

The sale value will only be taken in upon completion. Next fy will reflect.
This is financial engineering
But dividend 0.03 or so.

I am surprised the co still in net loss despite asset sales. Good thing they still distributing special dividends despite loss. But share price may not be supported once the dividends XD. Dyodd.

It has $10.5 million in Goodwill, intangibles
If we look at Net Tangible Asset, have to take away about 3 cents from its Net Asset Value.
Then the other assets other than Cash (which after receiving the Cash Consideration on Sale, less Cash Dividend) is about $11 million net of borrowings.
Other assets will be at discount to book value... impairment, etc.
So is Net Tangible Assets taking into account market discount, possible impariment, will not be as juicy as it sounds.  If it goes into new business, then as most sgx co, will be just whittling away its cash..Existing business could not manage a profit.
