StarHub raises mobile fees with iPhone price release

Published on Sep 15, 2014 9:29 AM

SINGAPORE - TELCO StarHub has followed SingTel and M1' s lead to raise 4G subscription prices.

StarHub' s raised its mobile subscription plan prices on the back of the launch of the new Apple iPhone 6 and 6 Plus, which will be available this Friday.

The monthly subscription for the most basic 4G plan will be $42.90 a month for 150 minutes of outgoing calls, 1,000 SMS and 3GB data allowance.

This is $3 more than the existing basic SmartSurf mobile plan, priced at $38 a month with a $2.14 extra for the 4G add-on service. However, the older plan comes with only 100 minutes of outgoing calls, 800 SMS and 2GB of data allowance.

This company has VERY LITTLE ASSETS. Neglible NAV when compared to its share price. A startup like MyRepublic can potentially overtake this company. Starhub is just a reseller. Got to watch out for new entrants offering kickass 1000 Mbps fibre broadband at cut throat price, with no bundle, no compulsory contracts. Sick of signing multi year contracts and getting lousy service.

Everytime they claim telco will drop, it seldom do. Even if it does it bounces back fast. Most importantly when it doesn't drop no one will complain. When it did drop, analysts will state they predicted correctly.
