If 4th coming, it will become 2. M1 and starhud are not so diversified.

All these px drops are because of the mkt fear for the 4th telco coming into the SG mkt. But is there anything special about the 4th telco ? Any packages which are really ' killers' against the other three existing telcos incl StarHub ? If packages are still the same, why fear,... since StarHub already has a subscriber base and has first-mover advantage ? When is the 4th telco scheduledto start its operation ?

This is what i think too, it will be back to 4, if can' t break 4 and start to move down again, time to short again. I doubt it will be back to 4.4. The 1Q result still give me a doubt about starhub operation.

No doubt, this is a surprise result after 1Q net profit drop.

Thanks for BBs blocking the way and let me to run road with profit.

I will see situation and short starhub again since BBs are on shortselling position, they won' t give in.

well, what a surprise isn' t it?

Surprise? no not really.... i just did a simple survey of all ppl that i know. Friends, family, colleagues, relatives. Basically everyone that i know. Guess wat? 68% are having more than 1 mobile phone and that trend is set to grow. Guess wat again? And thats only the mobile sector we' re talking about.....

Fourth telco is  to bring more flavour to the meal not to crush existing 3 ...

Cheers!!

Take profit, hahaha, lucky. Seem like result is not only shocking me but also the BBs who shorted it at high. They are trying to defend not to let the price fly back to above 4.

Stay sideline at this stock and watch the battle.

So long as still below 3.95, I still got profit to take. I prepare to harvest after result release, now have to pray price don't shoot at open.

SINGAPORE (Aug 5): StarHub posted 5% higher 2Q earnings of $99 million from a year ago.

Total revenue for the three months to June increased 2% to $589 million.

" We are delighted with our performance in the second quarter. We are especially heartened to see the residential Broadband revenue increasing for two sequential quarters,&rdquo says Tan Tong Hai, CEO of StarHub.

&ldquo This quarter, we registered customer growth in all lines of business and low churn rates, a testimony to our Hubbing strategy and quality service experience. We will continue to deliver value to our stakeholders.&rdquo

Starhub says service revenue was up 0.5% to $554.3 million with the increase mainly from fixed network services.

Mobile service revenue for the quarter was 0.2% higher at $310.8 million from an increase in post-paid mobile service revenue.

Revenue from sale of equipment increased 42.6% to $35.2 million due to higher re-contracts for the new smartphones.

Fixed network service revenue grew 5% for the quarter to $96.7 million, contributed by higher take-up of data & internet services.

Broadband service revenue decreased 3.9% to $49.0 million for the quarter.

Pay TV service revenue was 0.6% lower at $97.8 million due mainly to lower advertising revenue.

Based on the current outlook, StarHub expects the group&rsquo s 2015 service revenue to grow in the low single-digit range.

&ldquo We expect our 2015 group EBITDA margin to be about 32% on service revenue. For 2015, we expect our capex payments to be at about 13% of our total revenue. We intend to maintain our annual cash dividend of 20 cents per ordinary share for 2015,&rdquo says StarHub.

StarHub closed 1.1% lower at $3.75.

Keep? Need me to remind you, it was below 3 in 2012, and 2008 before the crash. Dividend play can only rely on the paid out, if dividend is cut, the price will adjust accordingly. Good luck, do your own study.
