you have cognitive dissonance or what? You just said you would not be surprised to see StarHub drop to $1.5-$1.7 in 2017.
Then how can starhub be a safe buy in price at $2.30~$2.50.
You are contradicting yourself. Are you trolling?

If TPG ropes in Telstra for Singapore market , expect M1 Starhub to drop by - 15% at least.
(Singtel go Australia for Optus...)
Now is ....: )6

I said it before , can only safely buy Starhub at $2.30 ~ 2.50.
Once TPG roll out their business, let's see how market reacts.
License awarded starhub price already adjusted from $3 to $2 80.
When actual business war starts , see who can do the business better.

Yes. Agree that the 20 cents dividends may not be sustainable going into next year. See the article by the Motley Fool for a discussion on the factors which could affect the sustainability of Starhub' s dividends. Pls note that this discussion provides us some important factors to think about concerning the sustainability of amount of dividends payout by Starhub and is not conclusive that Starhub' s dividends payout will decline next year. We will only know by next year whether the dividends payout will decline or not.

Obviously, you are not very good at macro business.
go think about these pts first.
How much market share can they handle. Even my republic said they would be aiming for 5% of market share.
Most customers already on several year contracts, how much loss they would incur if they tried price war with 3 existing incumbent
Singapore market is so small, why pay so much for the bid ($105m) then plan for 3-5 year of loss making.
If price wars really happen because TPG really stupid. the more likely scenario would be m1 and tpg kamikaze together.
You think all investors are stupid?

If i were TPG, my game plan would be :
1. Rope in a strong telco backer
2. Price war with best value price plans ... they do $50 for this dataplan, we do $35 ....
Get market share with tied up contracts 1st...1st 3 years making small losses is ok....
Then gradually fine tune after getting a sizeable market share....
The current situation is : starhub singtel m1 do fail consumers in one way or another

To say with the entry of the 4th Telco TPG, Starhub M1 have no impact is
Self - Deceiving
Market Size is ONLY so big, the cake size
You share with 3 players and you share with 4 players there is for sure a difference in market share
If TPG performs well, impact will be HUGE
TPG maybe small player from Australia, but if they rope in say Fox , PCCW, O2 ....
they can have better game play

7% yield is attractive
1 year dividend 20cent...6-7% yield...
i m still quite shocked when i learnt :
winning bid : $105 mil
losing bid : $102.5 mil
is so close (if electoral voting may need recount worrrr.....)

winning bid 105 mil vs losing bid 102 mil ?
agonizingly close
such a coincidence both think +/- 105 mil
let TPG rope in FOX as backer, or PCCW so that we have more TV and cable content

Closed at 2.81 today ! Looking at how well it can do after this is important, since the fourth payer has finally been confirmed and announced officially. TPG may get the licence, but how about the cashflow to set everything up ?? A very big challenge there,......... recalled there was another telco player who tried earlier but failed.
