Of course there are still plenty. Share conso does not change anything. Just instead of 5-7 b, it will be 250-350 m of free shares in loose hands. But not to worry, by end August, the sky will be clear blue.

use your basic calculation lah. after share consolidation, still got what loose free shares? Lol

| 68b. About 10+b in retail investors loose hands. Now probably about 5-7b left to sell. Until Ahbui8 sells his free shares, I am afraid the party is not ending anytime soon |

Closing @ 910. Not bad as it is still gained with volume much higher than morning. Investor' s Day on 15 March 2024.
If SP drops to below 910 to 880, buy more for long term or to do range trading. Its up to yourself to decide. Share price is dynamic and may fluctuate due to many factors, including  comments made in this thread. LOL. DYODD.

| Guidelines on the Regulation of Short Selling 4 2 SHORT SELLING 2.1 Short selling is the sale of capital markets products that the seller does not own at the time of the sale. Short selling may either be &lsquo covered&rsquo or &lsquo uncovered&rsquo . In &lsquo covered&rsquo short selling, the seller has borrowed or made arrangements to borrow the capital markets products before the short sale is made. In &lsquo uncovered&rsquo short selling (also referred to as &lsquo naked&rsquo short selling), the seller is not in possession of the capital markets products at the time of the sale or has not made borrowing arrangements before the short sale is made. 2.2 Short selling allows for more efficient price discovery, increases market liquidity, and facilitates risk management and the development of hedging activities. However, when there is significant market uncertainty, short selling could result in increased market volatility, potentially leading to disorderly markets. Short selling may also be used as a tool in market abuse, for example where it is accompanied by false rumours designed to encourage others to sell. &lsquo Uncovered&rsquo short selling may also result in disruptions to the settlement process, when uncovered short sellers are unable to deliver the securities on settlement date. 2.3 Internationally, many securities markets have put in place measures to mitigate the potential negative effects of short selling, such as restricting the price of short sales or requiring short sellers to borrow securities before short selling them. 2.4 In Singapore, the Central Depository (Pte) Limited (&ldquo CDP&rdquo ) mitigates short selling&rsquo s potentially disruptive effects on the settlement system, by purchasing securities on behalf of sellers who do not possess securities for delivery on settlement day (commonly referred to as the &ldquo buying-in&rdquo process). Where CDP carries out buying-in, the cost of purchase and an additional penalty is charged to the seller who failed to deliver the securities. In addition, the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited (&ldquo SGX-ST&rdquo ) conducts surveillance to detect market abuse. 2.5 These measures help mitigate some of the potential negative effects of short selling and ensure that markets continue to function in an orderly and efficient manner. |
