Hatten Land' s new partnership starts crytomining operations ahead of schedule

HATTEN Land' s new partner has already delivered 80 per cent, or 40 of the pilot batch of 50 Bitmain Antminer S19J Pro crypto mining rigs originally due end-April.

In response to queries from the Singapore Exchange (SGX), Hatten Land : PH0 -4.26% on Tuesday (Apr 5) said the first 40 pilot batch machines have since been installed and are now operating smoothly, mining Bitcoins continually and around the clock on an automated basis.

Its agreement with the new partner includes an option to deliver an additional 500 rigs within 2022.

When asked by SGX for elaboration on the identity of its new partner, the group said its partner' s name remains undisclosed due to " commercial sensitivities" .

It is also unable to disclose the breakdown of costs in acquiring and operating the new equipment through its latest partnership due to the " highly competitive business nature and commercial sensitivities" .

The group describes its new partner as a special purpose vehicle (SPV) incorporated in Singapore - wholly owned by its owner and the sole director, who is a permanent resident of the city state.

The new partner was introduced by one of the group' s existing blockchain partners.

Hatten Land is entitled to a share of net proceeds after deducting operational and management expenses, as well as a share of mined cryptocurrencies due to the partner.

The group intends to recognise revenue from crypto mining hosting services.

It believes its crypto mining operations will provide a recurring and automated source of revenue - therefore leading to more stability in the group' s financial performance.

" Cryptocurrencies are becoming mainstream with more real-world applications as a means of commerce, making transactions more cost-efficient and facilitating new economic activities in the digital economy," noted Hatten Land.

Regarding the group' s recent decision to accept major cryptocurrencies transactions under its property portfolio, Hatten said accepted cryptocurrencies include Bitcoin, Ethereum, and stablecoin Tether.

" These are the world' s top 3 cryptocurrencies in terms of market capitalisation, valued at approximately US$1.38 trillion collectively. Tether being a stablecoin with a price pegged to US$1.00, has less than 3 per cent fluctuation against USD in the past 36 months. Other major cryptocurrencies might be acceptable and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis," it added.

The group said it is also in discussion with a registered licensed partner in Malaysia, while also working with a Monetary Authority of Singapore regulated partner to safeguard such transactions and its cryptocurrencies in the respective countries.

This bodes well for HL as their GoldMart deal will happen faster with the improvement in Malaysia' s real estate market. If HL receives the reported US$83M, this will be a huge shot in the arm and HL will be able to move faster on all their other biz plans to improve their profitability.

All longists watch out for the good news and Huat big this time.... my guess is that the price will cheong to 10c if that happens..

Malaysia' s real estate market expected to recover following reopening of borders

Another contributing factor is the strong Singapore dollar versus the Malaysian ringgit

The reopening of Malaysia' s borders would be the starting gun for the resumption of cross-border real estate investment in both directions, says CEO of real estate technology group Juwai IQI.

MALAYSIA' S real estate market is expected to see an uptick in foreign buyers particularly from Singapore, real estate technology group Juwai IQI said on Tuesday (Apr 5).

The reopening of Malaysia' s borders, the strong Singapore dollar versus the Malaysian ringgit and relatively stable prices of Malaysian real estate are among the factors cited by Juwai IQI Group Co-Founder and chief executive officer Kashif Ansari in a statement.

" Further enhancing the buying power of purchasers holding Singapore dollars is that the Malaysian real estate market offers excellent affordability at the moment. While Malaysia' s real estate market did surprisingly well during the pandemic, finance ministry data shows that transactions were nonetheless lower than in prior years," he said.

" Malaysian home prices have remained in the same band since about 2019, but fewer sales and less new construction, combined with a rising economic optimism in the country, suggest that the property market could be at the beginning of a new upcycle. As employment, household income, and the GDP all increase in 2022 and beyond, we expect the home market to also perform well," he added.

Kasif also said the reopening of Malaysia' s borders would be the starting gun for the resumption of cross-border real estate investment in both directions and signals a return to re-pandemic economic activity between both countries.

" The border' s reopening will have 3 important impacts on the Malaysian economy. It will lead to a complete resumption of pre-pandemic trade and travel between the nations. It will once again make it possible for Malaysians to seek opportunities in Singapore and for Singaporeans to seek opportunities in Malaysia by enabling the cross-border lifestyle that so many took for granted before 2020," he said.

Malaysia moved to open its borders to international travel in an effort to combat the economic disruptions caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, switching to an endemic phase from Apr 1 after implementing restrictions since March 2020.

Among the measures are relaxed travel restrictions, and simplified standard operating procedures (SOP), with the aim of reviving several badly hit sectors, especially its tourism sector, and boosting economic activity.

Malaysia reported 10,002 new Covid-19 infections as at midnight Monday, bringing the national total to 4,256,469, according to the health ministry.
