Good move by SIA. It further solidifies SIA' s branding. Fly with us, receives excellent service, and we' ve got your back. Given that CAT will be more frequent and hard to detect early, and it affects most airlines, if I am flying and have a choice, which will I choose.

Recent development in SIA is certainly offering SH much to think about .

The reason compensation and payout does show SIA management skill in handling crisis like this .....however, ( even cover by insurance) it does cost SIA
some $$. More so , just hope it wld not happen too often knowing it is tough to avoid all this in airline bz

After a record earning, the compensation package for staff and SH is a hugh sum ....question is, can SIA afford this or could it be lesser ?
And more so , would SIA be able to even maintain this level of payout going forward ??

Dont get me wrong ...SIA will continue to be profitable ( at least this year ) barring any major global issue ( like pandemic or a war) ....but doubt are set in if
SIA can maintian this level of payout seeing rising oil prices and global competition .

Certainly hope our national carrier can fly high .

SIA continue to break record for 2 years and posted a record full-year net profit.

Assume that : expected earnings growth rate  of SIA = 0%
assuming the stock price and earnings remained unchanged.
if its stock trades at $6.75 per share and earns $0.633 (as per FY 2023/24) per share annually.

At SIA' s share price of S$6.75, it has a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 10.66x ..... Meaning.....
It would take 10.66 years for the Company to make enough money to reimburse the share price.

Aviation Stocks In Singapore: SIA (C6L) SATS (S58) SIA Engineering (S59) ST Engineering (S63):
Latest Results, Dividends, and Growth Prospects

Singapore Airlines Ltd (SGX: C6L)

Singapore Airlines (SIA) (SGX: C6L), the national carrier of Singapore, is a leading global airline known for its top-notch service and extensive network.

SIA' s latest financial results showed strong signs of recovery, with increasing passenger loads.

For the financial year ended 31 March 2024 (FY2023/24), SIA' s total revenue rose 7% year-on-year to a record S$19.01 billion, up from S$17.78 billion last year.

While passenger-flown revenue grew 17.3% to S$15.69 billion, cargo-flown revenue fell 41.2% to S$2.12 billion.

Meanwhile, SIA' s net profit improved by 24% year-on-year to a record of S$2.68 billion due mainly to better operating performance,

a net interest income versus net finance charges a year before, lower tax expense, and a share of profits versus a share of losses of associated companies from the previous year.

Shareholders will be delighted to note that a final dividend of 38 cents per share for FY2023/24 was declared.

Including the interim dividend of 10 cents per share paid, the total dividend for the latest financial year will be 48 cents per share.

This is up 20.8% from the total dividend of 38 cents per share declared a year back.

Looking ahead, SIA said that the demand for air travel remains healthy in the first quarter of FY2024/25 due to a strong pick-up in bookings to North Asia and Southeast Asia.

While cargo yields have held above pre-pandemic levels for the financial year, there is downward pressure due to increases in belly-hold capacity.

The airline added that it faces headwinds from intense competition, increased costs, and geopolitical tension.

At SIA' s share price of S$6.75, it has a price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio of 11x and a dividend yield of 7.1%.

SIA to establish commercial partnership with Riyadh Air
The tie up will facilitate the growth of passenger travel between Saudi Arabia and Singapore in support of business and tourism

SINGAPORE Airlines : C6L +0.59% (SIA) has inked a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for a new partnership with Saudi Arabia&rsquo s Riyadh Air, a new airline due to be commercially operational in 2025.

Under the MOU, both carriers will explore opportunities for interline connectivity on each other&rsquo s services while also working on potential areas of commercial co-operation, such as codeshare arrangements.

Other areas in which SIA and Riyadh Air may co-operate include reciprocal benefits for frequent flyer programme members, cargo services, customer experience, and digital innovation as a &ldquo precursor to a deeper, long-term strategic partnership&rdquo .

In a joint statement on Tuesday (Jun 4), both carriers said the MOU will potentially offer Riyadh Air&rsquo s guests access to SIA&rsquo s network in South-east Asia and the Southwest Pacific region.

It will also allow SIA&rsquo s customers greater access to the Middle East region through Riyadh Air&rsquo s network.

Tony Douglas, chief executive of Riyadh Air, said the Saudi company&rsquo s co-operation with SIA will start with a wide-ranging codeshare agreement, and is expected to include a &ldquo broad range of areas&rdquo including digital and technology, loyalty and cargo.

Dubbing it a &ldquo win-win strategic partnership&rdquo , SIA chief executive Goh Choon Phong said the arrangement will enable the group to offer more options, better connectivity, and greater benefits to its customers.

&ldquo Together, we can facilitate the growth of passenger travel between Saudi Arabia and Singapore, and beyond, via our respective networks, supporting both tourism and business links,&rdquo said Goh.

&ldquo The MOU will also allow us to find ways to work together to enhance customer experience and cargo services, and harness digital tools and solutions, potentially bringing greater benefits to both airlines in the future,&rdquo he added.
