VENTURE REPORTS NET PROFIT OF S$69.8 MILLION, UP 61% YoY

SINGAPORE, 4 AUGUST 2017 &ndash In the second quarter of 2017, Venture Corporation
Limited registered a 61% jump in net profit to S$69.8 million. This improvement in
profitability is made possible through high value creation and capture underpinned by
Venture&rsquo s deep engineering bench strength and operational excellence. For the six
months ended 30 June 2017, net profit improved by 49.5% to S$118.4 million.
Revenue for the reported quarter rose above S$1.0 billion, up 48.3% year-on-year.

Based on 1H17 ~42c EPS as per the announcement, forward P/E is about 16.5 based on 84c forward FY17 EPS.
Also @ $13.85, currently trades at about 2.9x NAV.
Valuations seem rich at the moment. Of course, will have to compare to other local tech peers to get a better idea. UMS, for example, based on 1Q17 EPS of 3c, forward P/E is about 9.2x based on 12c forward FY17 EPS and currently price of $1.10.
Also @ $13.85, currently trades at about 2.9x NAV.

Yeah agree. And it looks like Venture's venture into life science products is coming to fruition. 42c EPS for 6 months, with a negative forex variance as compared to the same period last week, is impressive.
