I personally think it is much better to be in the hands of OBS than Peter Fu junior. I expect more actions coming from HPL soon. I have held this stock for years. Will continue to hold to see what good comes out of this recent corporate action.

I understand that before Peter Fu Senior died, he told his son to maintain majority control of HPL. OBS must be aware of it too.

LCD offer was 17 cents. today close at 31.5 cents. almost double the offer price.
unfortunately, no other offer for hpl. just imagine if it followed the price pattern for LCD- hpl could possibly have been $6-7-8!
just my wish...but hopefully time will take it there.

hongfok moving up quite a bit this few days-  another undervalued company moving up.
hopefully we shall see the same for hpl after the offer closes.
bro, care to explain?

just look at LCD.
ever since KWS came into the picture, the price has gone to 27 cents, more than 10 cents above offer price of 17cents.
i guess there was no competing offer for hpl, thats why the price couldnt move higher in the near term.
but over time, value should be enhanced and by then the price would hopefully be higher.
Is OBS known to be generous? From his corporate actions, this guys does not seem to be over generous. Neither was he nice to Peter Fu junior.
olam trading at 2.43 today, around 20cents more than the takeover offer price of 2.23.
almost 10% more. if hpl follows the same pattern, it could be trading over 4.40 after the offer closes?
just an assumption.
i guess we just have to hold onto our shares, and once the offer period closes, we need to   wait for mr ong and team to enhance and increase the value of the company

by then $5-6-7?

The IFA report and valuations cannot be trusted. If you study the IFA share trading actions in one of the offer circular, the IFA sold down 2 over million shares at $3.80 + to press down the share price to $3.50+ level, than 68 holdings immediately raised offer to $4.00. So the IFA was acting in concert with 68 Holdings.
just imagine the valuations hilton, four seaons, concorde hotels that are owned by hpl could fetch post-redevelopment.

or even without redevelopment, their valutions could possibly be higher?

quote from the article:

Assuming the retail space is valued at $9,500 per square foot, the hotel would be valued at almost $1.5 million per room. A higher price of $10,000 psf for the retail space would translate to a hotel pricing of close to $1.4 million per room.

2013 news article:China group buys Grand Park hotel at record price

http://www.stproperty.sg/articles-property/singapore-property-news/china-group-buys-grand-park-hotel-at-record-price/a/131316
the RNAV could possibily be higher than $5.
if you look at the IFA report, valuations for forum is around $1540 psf.
freehold orchard road property for $1540psf seems on the low side.
