Ok, understand now. Assets held for trade are usually quoted securities, ie listed shares. The rise in the quoted share price will be reflected as gain from asset held for trade in the PL. Ipco held innopac. When innopac' s share price rose from 8c to 20c, this is reflected as gain in the PL (14c x no. of shares held). Their asset value also increased. Adventus invested in some quoted shares recently, but it did not disclose what share. This makes us difficult to monitor the share price of the quoted investment.

I hardly trade anymore. Been selling all my stocks. Now only have one lot of many companies. But nothing substantial. So boring. Good fundamentals or not also cannot move... Big bosses all go across causeway liao. Will always fondly remember last September when stocks from A-Z flew up sky high. Prices then could double, even triple in days. Now, we are lucky to even see a 5% jump lol.
