You should do some valutaion of Venture to get a good feel of what is considered value-for-money. Can try DDM. Market is now pricing a huge expectation for Venture and it needs to devliver that next Wed when it reports its FY results.

For your EP, just feel is a bit high, perhaps you would like to take some profit with your 10 lots and just hold some for longer term trade.

i usually hold short term (6 months max) so i presume thats trading? i usually focus on a few stocks and buy on dips and sell on high. made a little bit but recently huge paperlosses from ascendas, singtel and thai bev. so really hoping to make some money from venture.
yes also coz you bought in at $8. i personally feel $26 is a high price to buy in ( i feel $23 is a fair entry price) but then again... greedy...
do you think i should be worried if it dips to $1-$2 or its not something significant to worry about considering the company' s potential?

U will need to ask yrself, whats yr strategy? U are investing mid to long term, or trading?
If Mid to long term, i have also advocated that this is a great stock to hold! I have been calling for a buy on this since it was at 13plus. Despite many noises around, i advised all to keep out noises and ride it up..evening buying on dips along the way when pple were shouting to sell and short on stormy days! And today we are at 26+ bucks!
Depending on the upcoming results, my opinion is that this is worth 28-30+ bucks! It might well be the next Jardine group of stks! lolx. But of course this is just my personal view la! And TBH, my costs for them are low. i have abt 48lots now in total, majority at average costs of $8+. So i have lots of buffer. I dun get spooked on days when it falls 1-2bucks. So my tolerance level might be different from yours. So in a way its quite hard to really advise u on what to do bro.
If your strategy is to trade, i would say ur doing pretty well, 10lots at 1bucks profit each is great! If that works for you, why not right?

Hello guys! I' m new to this forum, and relatively new to stock trading. would really appreciate advice. i have done (adequate, hopefully) research on venture and seem like a good stock to buy. i bought in about 24$ and sold at 25$+. was actually reluctant to sell but on advice from someone i sold it. regretted and bought in at 26.20$ today.
been really worried since i bought in at such a price (10 lots somemore)

Market is pricing in a huge expectation for Venture. Assuming its performance for the full year is proportional to its 9m' s, it may be able to declare a $1.20 dividend. However, it should be declared as final and not a 60cts final plus a 60cts special since for the former, $1.20 should become a norm going forward while for the latter, the special might be viewed as a once-off. When Venture was giving out 50cts per year, its share price trade around $8. 60cts going forward cannot justiy its current price. Mgmt guidance for forward growth will be crucial to determine if the current price can be sustained.
The other point in consideration is that Venture is now a STI component. This may allow big fund to increase their position. This increase its share prices while compressng it yield. Venture yield used to be between 6-7% so it might be brought closer to STI' s 3-4% yield. Assuming 4.5% and $1.20 dvidend going forward, a price of $26.70 is quite possible.
Venture results should be out tonight.
