Good luck to us! :)
Yes, my first position at 63. yield and price to book value too tempting. Just concerned about its debt.

We dunno what caused it to plunge so much the past few weeks. So far no news yet.  I' ve topped up at 0.63. Taking a risk for the potential huge dividend gain. Could be risky!

This counter look very yummy just on the technicals and dividend. But scared trying to catch a dropping knife. Is there still room for a rebound....

I have a fibre-optic broadband at home. To be precise, I could use my xiaomi 4 to watch some low quality  PRC produced movies only.  I never  have a chance to watch any blockbuster  western movies in full. Maybe your friend is happy to this limited service only.

But my friend no complaint leh.  Think he use abt a yr already.  He got from SLS upon recommendation from another chap, not from exhibition.  But he did tell me that TVB got taken away.  I personally cannot verify cos I' m fibre-disabled.  With fibre, streaming might improve.  But there again, if u are tapping an overloaded server, god bless !!!!

Actually, all the TV box selling in Singapore can never be compared to Starhub (in SIngapore) and  Asia Pay TV (in Taiwan) etc. In the IT show, these salesmen are fooling the customers with lots of free movies and TV channels. It is not true and monthly subcription fee is required. In fact, one of my friends told me to go SIm Lim Square to decode the password of youku but failed after the 3 months warrantly period expiry and I wasted $40/- for that.

PayTV willnot go away. In the longrun it will intergrate with other media to meet the evolving needs of the customers. In China there are over a thousand TV station across the mainland. So to get a foothold in Taiwan is to buy private TV. Chinese company is trying to get into Taiwan market.

U may have a pt.  I' m aware of the subscription.  My friend told me that cost is 10SGD/mth for the package he is subscribing to, n he gets to connect to three different servers, 1 each from the PRC, US n maybe Europe (can' t remember for sure).  I can' t subscribe cos my home is fibre-disabled.  You are right that  Youke is blocked (I also can' t get it on my desktop - using the old n faithful ADSL), but seems there are a lot of other channels from PRC, HK n Taiwan (TVB is also blocked it seems) to view.  So, with these developments, n likely more sprouting up,  going forward, one cld only imagine it compressing the margins of APTT,n likely that future for them not rosie.  That' s my view but, as always,  best dyodd.
mi5mi5mi5 ( Date: 17-Dec-2015 06:29) Posted:
I bought a TV box during exhibition but I am required to pay an annual subscription to watch those overseas TV channels. In addition to that, those movies broadcast by youku etc. cannot be watched outside PRC. Thus, there is no free lunch in this world. If you do not belief, just buy one of such TV box you will know it is not worth it.
Qanghoo ( Date: 16-Dec-2015 12:42) Posted:
Nowadays, u go exhibition, u see so many sell koyok, internet tv packages so cheap, so many channels to watch from all over the world, where got much future for this kind of pay tv.  Always dyodd, but my take is this  cld be like flogging a dead horse going forward.
