SINGAPORE &ndash   A ComfortDelGro taxi was involved in an accident that left it overturned on the road on the morning of Feb 17, the first day of Chinese New Year.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said it was alerted to the accident at the junction of Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1 and Bishan Road at 7.50am.
It added that its paramedics assessed two people for minor injuries but they declined to be taken to hospital.
In photos published by the Chinese language daily Lianhe Zaobao, an ambulance and several police officers can be seen near the taxi, with two traffic police officers seen speaking to a man standing at the side of the road.
In a traffic update at 8.13am, the Land Transport Authority said on its X account to avoid lanes 1, 2 and 3 due to an accident at Ang Mo Kio Avenue 1.
In response to queries from The Straits Times, a ComfortDelGro spokesperson said its cabbie was unharmed and that no passenger was on board at the time of the accident.
&ldquo We are monitoring the situation and providing assistance as needed,&rdquo the spokesperson added.

I think this company' s share price would be significantly higher if management took a more ambitious approach to target returns and capital management. It should really be aiming to acheive much more RoE than what it has done in the past, and its seeming to be satisfied as to how it is doing on this front is disappointing.
It is also noteworthy that this is one of the few sizable companies on SGX that does not have a controlling investor. If it continues to pursue its current approach I would not be surprised if eventually activist investors arrive to force action. The mkt cap is big enough for someone like Elliott to eventually come calling.

Hope to see DBS revise the target price higher if CDG can produce stellar Q4 results.

📌     Expectations for FY2025:
✔ Revenue & profits to grow further versus FY2024
✔ Dividend likely attractive (~8 cents/share total)
✔ Dividend yield still appealing (5.5 ~ 6 %)
✔ Overseas business and higher-margin contracts drive performance
ComfortDelGro appears poised to deliver another solid set of results with strong dividends, assuming its core public transport and overseas earnings continue growing even as some competitive pressures persist domestically.

With limited price movement but offer better returns compared to SSB, T-Bills and FD, probably should rename as Comfort Savings Bond.
What is the point of a dividend being raised from 7.77 cents to 8 cents for the FY, a mere meagre 0.23 cents, when Comfortdelgro share price remaining lacklustre at < $1.50 even with STI hitting 5,000?,
