The GRs...

Selling by funds is still ongoing.
When funds sell, get out of the way.
Dont go in to pick bottom.
What if prices want to fall another 10 cts to 20 cts?
What will happen to you if you start buying today?

Sis Ah Mah,

When the selling by those who want OUT ends, the buying by those who want IN, will begin.
This cycle never stops.
Pull out the charts and you will see the GRs doing the up swing each time a major down swing ends.
You wont see any of the GRs doing n SPH or Ezion or Hyflux.
That' s why when the selling ends, if looking to buy, that' s the time to buy.

For the benefit of those of you who missed it the last time I said it, when I say Good REITs or GRs for short, I mean the following:

Ascendas REIT
Suntec RET
Keppel DC REIT
Mapletree Logistics Trust
Mapletree Industrial Trust

The have been falling over the last 3.5 mths since September.
Not so good news for those who are stuck or vested but wonderful news for those who are looking to buy to have them in your portfolio.
I' ve said this before and I say it again. If just retail payers like you and I sell, we wont see this type of weakness. Only when funds sell
then we can see this type of price weakness. But what is poison for those funds who want to sell for whatever reason be it to cash out,
to meet fund redemption, for portfolio reshuffling etc.... is meat for those funds who have been waiting all along for price weakness to
come for them to buy.

Why are funds selling ? I dunno. Maybe now that vaccination around the world has started, it is time to move money out of safe haven
stocks like REITs to redeploy in more risky but higher return stocks ? In other words, with vaccination, the world is inching back closer
towards pre-COVID business activity so it is risk-on mode for these more aggressive funds?

Anyway, when they are done with their selling, prices will hold and from there, those funds which want to buy will buy and we will see a
U-Turn which will be more or less simultaneous in that we will see all of them turn together. And that' s our que to buy and add on the way
up if the price action confirms the U-Turn.

I will go poke here poke there and see if I can find the GTM button to click on.

Can lah. Instead of Day Orders, choose GTD (you have to key in a date that is 30 days or less away) or GTM (it will stay in the system for 30 days). The orders will then stay in the system until filled or if not will expire on the date specified.

For the attention of those of our bros and siss who are vested for longer term.
Do take note and factor it into your longer term planning. All the best.

......

At the rate that the major shareholders are buying up shares in the market, there is a cause of concern (both positive and negative).

The further strained of illiquidity is going to hurt retail shareholders. The ever reducing % of free float shares brings the company closer to the mandatory threshold to delist.

There' s a chance that retail shareholders may be subjected to the mercy or generosity of the major shareholders. Offer a high buyout price to reward existing retail shareholders, or offer a lowball price. If retail shareholders do not tender their shares, they may end up with illiquid shares in a private company. Once privatize and delisted, the company can then conduct selective share capital reduction exercises for the remnant retail shareholders who will face less option and most likely, lower offer price by then.

Such practice is not unprecedented in the SGX counters. Can consider studying Singapore Land.

Indonesian palm oil export levy positive for country' s downstream players, Malaysian planters &mdash CGS-CIMB

KUALA LUMPUR (Dec 7): The Indonesian government' s decision to revise its export levy structure will hurt upstream palm oil producers in the country, but will be a positive move for Indonesian downstream players and planters whose operations are Malaysia-focused, said CGS-CIMB Research.

The research house' s analysts Ivy Ng and Nagulan Ravi noted that the new regime is positive for downstream palm oil players like Wilmar International Ltd as they will benefit from the wider differential in the export levy rate between processed palm oil and crude palm oil (CPO) if CPO prices rise above US$670 (RM2,727.57) a tonne, which will boost processing margins as they will be able to procure CPO at below international market prices.
