economy is gg down, hence the rate cut

No matter who talks or to whom, the U.S economy is still strong right now. Otherwise the Fed would not wait untill Sep to cut rates.

My point of view only.

Stronger than your expectations perhaps. It depends on who you talk to.

I remember seeing two Lawrence Summer speeches, one two years ago and one a year ago. Two years ago he expected a hard landing, One year ago he expected no landing. Where we are now is somewhere inbetween, which is stronger than his expectations two years ago but weaker than his expectations one year ago.

It' s ok, just keep your believing.
But I prefer to believe the Fed' s point of view rather than the so called investment institutions.

I don' t want to monopolise this thread over this particular point but I don' t think using Fed actions as indicating the state of the economy is particularly sensible.

It is accepted by a majority of US institutional investors that during the chairmanships of the last 4 fed chairs (Greenspan, Bernanke, Yellen, Powell) the fed has been too slow to react when the market turns (both up and down). This has been one of the most consistent themes of this particular era.

Don' t be influenced by analysts' price targets too much and just take a look.
The focus is on trying hard to understand the interpretations and expectation of trustworthy analysts.

SIA reports lower quarterly profit as yields fall and fuel costs rise
Net fuel cost increased 30.1 per cent to $1.37 billion, mainly due to higher volumes uplifted, price increases and a lower fuel hedging gain.
In addition to the weaker operating performance, the bottom line was also weighed down by a reduction in net interest income, a lower surplus on disposal of aircraft, spares and spare engines, and a lower share of profits of associated companies. But this decline was partially mitigated by a fall in tax expense.

Cash and bank balances fell by $1.2 billion to $10.1 billion, mainly due to the redemption of all remaining MCBs. SIA paid out the principal amount of $1.74 billion on June 24, which in turn was partially mitigated by the $1.2 billion of net cash generated from operations, including proceeds from forward sales.
In addition to cash on hand, the group has access to $3.3 billion of committed lines of credit, all of which remain untapped.

The firm said it " remains well positioned to navigate these headwinds, supported by its strong balance sheet and robust digital capabilities, as well as its firm commitment to maintaining cost discipline" .
It also noted that it would continue to pursue deeper commercial partnerships with like-minded carriers, particularly in fast-growing markets within the Asia-Pacific region, to enhance connectivity and widen travel options to customers.
