Hong Kong was established as a colony of the British Empire after the Qing Empire ceded Hong Kong Island from Xin' an County in 1860

Hongkong Land was formed on 2 March 1889 and was initially named The Hongkong Land Investment and Agency Company Limited. It was founded by two businessmen in Hong Kong &mdash Sir Paul Chater and James from the profits of opium!!Now that was before

1997,when policy on land purchases would benefit the british. It is near impossible to now for any foreigner to profits from land purchase so all profits come from old riches, old prime land brought for a song!!Hence all billions from old rental income could be depleted soon.

Unless this buch of management who spend money like water is sacked ,HK land days of good time could be numbered !!

China Manufacturing Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) provides an early indication each month of economic activities in the Chinese manufacturing sector. It is compiled by China Federation of Logistics & Purchasing (CFLP) and China Logistics Information Centre (CLIC), based on data collected by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS).Li & Fung Research Centre is responsible for drafting and disseminating the English PMI report. Every month questionnaires are sent to over 700 manufacturing enterprises all over China. The data presented here is compiled from the enterprises responses about their purchasing activities and supply situations. The PMI should be compared to other economic data sources when used in decision-making.
A higher than expected reading should be taken as positive/bullish for the CNY , while a lower than expected reading should be taken as negative/bearish for the CNY.

While most major central banks are tightening policy, China is easing. On Monday China&rsquo s central bank cut two key interest rates, accelerating the government&rsquo s efforts to keep the economy&rsquo s slowing momentum from running into intractable ground.

That the rate cuts came on the same day that China announced full year and fourth quarter GDP growth of 9% that was slightly above expectations underlines policymakers&rsquo concern over the impact of rising headwinds. The moves also suggest more easing may be in the pipeline.  Policymakers in the world&rsquo s second largest economy are contending with a property sector downturn, the prospect of Omicron threatening to derail its &lsquo zero-Covid&rsquo policy, a soft global macro picture, and the lingering effects of last year&rsquo s broad domestic regulatory crackdown. Monday&rsquo s rate cuts also underline the increasingly asynchronous directions of growth cycles in the world&rsquo s largest economies, coming just as the US Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank are likely to phase out stimulus and hike rates to battle inflation.Di not doubt POB ability to cut rate if GDP is not inline with 5.5% growth the projected focrecastFor a country to make full use of domestic savings, it must develop its own manufacturing capacity.

" As Lee Kuan Yew, Singapore&rsquo s founding leader, famously observed: &ldquo No country has become a major economy without becoming an industrial power.&rdquo But building manufacturing capacity is hard: it often requires a country to start with &ldquo dirty jobs,&rdquo while encouraging tireless entrepreneurship.

China has done both. It began with labor-intensive exports, and gradually developed the most complete production network in the world and it now ranks among the countries with the largest number of entrepreneurs globally. Yet, since the 1990s, very few development economists have studied how countries can industrialize and produce their own entrepreneurs"

Hi seniors here, may I ask if I need to fill in the Form of Election for final dividend? My shares are with CDP. And I am ok to receive in SGD in my bank linked to CDP. Do I still need to fill in section A and submit? A bit confused. If dun fill in anything, what will I be receiving?
Thanks in advance.
