Our world class sgx market today in trouble dropped more than 145 points like the world  going to ending soon.
Depends on broker and stock.   Initial/maintenance can be as high as 140%/50%.   Carry cost include margin financing and borrowing cost.   If you really really want to short, use CFD, its cheaper.   SIA CFD is 10% margin, 3.5% financing.
Thank you for expainlation.
When I short-sell, how many % of transaction amount must I pay as deposit?
and how many days do I have to return the shares?

It' s a way to make money in a falling market. An investor borrows shares and sells them on, waits for the price to fall, buys the same number of shares at the lower price and hands them back to the lender.
The investor pockets the price difference and the counterpart who lent them the shares takes a commission. It works as long as the shares fall. If they rise, the investor could lose money instead.

Bro, if you have to ask, then don' t do it.   It is uncapped losses and has carry cost.

Its chaired by Chee, so don' t expect anything out of it.   To him, there' s nothing wrong with high COE and ERP 2.0.

SIA is a very short candidate, although now is oversold on daily, in months to come may fall below $5 easily. Thinking when and what price to short now.
It' s all a big coordinated push to force the Fed to reduce interest rate.   Their GDP is up, not down.   And if you go into job report detail, participation rate is up and total employed actually increased.
