DENTAL group Q& M Q& M Dental: QC7 +1.61% on Friday (Dec 3) announced that polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test kits developed by its subsidiary, Acumen Diagnostics, are capable of detecting Covid-positive cases of the new variant Omicron.
In addition to the Delta variant, the home-grown medical technology company' s 2 PCR test kits, Acu-Corona 2.0 and Acu-Corona Duplex, can also detect Omicron.
As the PCR test kits are locally manufactured, they can be deployed quickly and more efficiently. Q& M Dental Group has highlighted Acumen' s cost-effectiveness and greater self-sufficiency compared to that of its peers imported from overseas.
Acumen currently operates 2 laboratories that can process 7,000 diagnostic tests on a daily basis.
Ong Siew Hwa, executive director of Aoxin Q& M Dental, and chief executive officer and chief scientist of Acumen Diagnostics, is confident of Acumen' s PCR tests in detecting the new, highly infectious variant.
She said: " With PCR tests remaining the gold standard to detect Covid-19, Acumen remains well-positioned to help Singapore tackle this new challenge posed by the virus, with our effective and affordable PCR test kits that are equipped to detect Covid-19 positive cases infected with Delta and Omicron, as well as our laboratory testing capabilities that can run 7,000 tests daily."
Acumen is a 51 per cent-owned subsidiary of Q& M and 49 per cent owned by Aoxin Q& M $ Aoxin Q & M: 1D4 +2.08%. It is one of the few companies in Singapore with proprietary technology in testing for Covid-19.

Aoxin Q& M reopens 4 shuttered Chinese dental centres after Covid-19 hits Liaoning

CATALIST-LISTED Aoxin Q & M Dental Group
$ Aoxin Q & M: 1D4 -2.04% said on Monday (Dec 6) that it has reopened 4 of its dental centres in the Chinese province of Liaoning.
The news came after the local authorities had ordered the suspension of all non-emergency medical treatments amid a Covid-19 outbreak.
Aoxin Q & M, which operates 16 dental centres in China, first announced the temporary closures of 6 premises on Nov 15, with a 7th dental centre closing later on Nov 19.
Since the earlier announcement, Anshan Lishan District Aoxin Q & M Stomatology Polyclinic, Shenyang Huanggu Aoxin Dental Clinic, Huludao Longgang District Aoxin Stomatology Polyclinic and Dalian Aoxin Quanmin Stomatology Hospital resumed operations between Nov 17 and Dec 3, the board said.
Aoxin Q & M will continue to monitor the situation closely, keep in touch with the relevant authorities, implement more short-term precautionary measures if needed, and keep shareholders updated on any further material impact of Covid-19 on business activities, the board added in its statement.
Shares closed down by half a Singapore cent or 2.04 per cent at S$0.24 on Monday, before the announcement.

This current quarterly report ending Dec may only be out only Feb 22.
Long term investing means keeping the shares irregardless of fluctuations....
So Down Does Not Mean Out....there may be some more good news along the way

Sideways timeframe might be more than 2 weeks. Many possible scenarios for price to fall, one of which is profit taking for those who got it at 5 series and wants to pull funds out. Nevermind, i believe in this counter. They are making sound moves not only in their business but also in their acquisitions. Locked my existing lots away and no eye see till 3 months later. 😅
How long do you think it will remain down?....
