Bro Wave,

Think discount for most of these factories only Pre-CNY.

Maybe there is pre-Hari Raya sales, google see if have moh.

Old Chang Kee yes only frozen stuffs, go back deep fry ownself. If air-fry only needs a bit of oil, so no problem of fumes.

You will see OCK before seeing Fragrance at the other end. On the stretch of Woodlands Terrace Road, you will  find other wholesale food factories .

One such wholesaler is Fassler Gourmet, selling frozen seafood like Smoked Salmon, scallops, Sashimi, mussels etc.

Another one is Tan Soon Mui, selling glass jelly & other desserts. This one can buy anyday, cheaper than buying from supermarket.

Straits Times Breaking News
Companies & Markets
Jardine Matheson to buy rest of Jardine Strategic for US5.5b their shares jump

08 March 2021
The Straits Times

SINGAPORE (THE BUSINESS TIMES, BLOOMBERG) - Shares linked to  Jardine Matheson Holdings, Singapore' s biggest conglomerate by market value, rallied on Monday (March 8) after saying it will delist the group' s next largest unit in a US$5.5 billion (S$7.4 billion) buyout deal to simplify its structure.

Jardine Matheson, whose businesses range from automobiles to hotels, gained as much as 8.4 per cent after it said in a filing before tarding opened on Monday that it will acquire shares that it doesn' t already own in  Jardine Strategic Holdings  for US$33 in cash per share. Shares in the latter jumped as much 37 per cent, the most on record. The stock was the top gainer in the MSCI Asia Pacific Index.

The deal marks a significant effort to untangle the structure of an almost two-centuries old company, one of Hong Kong' s last remaining British trading houses. In 1994, Jardine moved its Hong Kong listing to Singapore, three years before Britain returned the city to China.

On completion,  Jardine Matheson  will become the single holding company for its subsidiaries, a move the group said will result in a " conventional ownership structure and a further increase in the group' s operational efficiency and financial flexibility." The deal is expected to become effective by the end of April.

The origins of the current structure, in the form of cross-holdings in dual holding companies and majority interests in listed subsidiaries, lie in a series of restructurings in the 1980s, the company said.

" The simplification of our ownership structure is a natural step in the evolution of the group and will create value for our shareholders," Ben Keswick, executive chairman of Jardine Matheson, said in the statement..

" Taking full ownership of Jardine Strategic is consistent with our policy of investing further in the growth prospects of our existing businesses and highlights the benefits of consistently maintaining the group' s financial strength."

The acquisition price of US$33 per share represents a 20.2 per cent premium to the last closing price of US$27.45 per Jardine Strategic share on March 5. The price is also at a 29 per cent and 40.3 per cent premium to the volume-weighted average closing price per share over the one-month and six-month period respectively ended March 5.

Jardine Strategic was also one of the most actively traded by value as at 10.55m on Monday, up 19.5 per cent or US$5.36 to US$32.81, with about 1.1 million shares changing hands. A  Singapore Exchange  circuit breaker was also triggered during early morning trade.

The circuit breaker activates when incoming orders potentially match an existing order at a price outside circuit breaker price bands. When this occurs, a five-minute cooling-off period is triggered and the incoming order will be rejected. Trading can still take place during the cooling-off period, albeit within the price bands. All existing orders will not be affected and new orders within the price band can still take place.

The circuit breaker covers Straits Times Index (STI) and MSCI Singapore Index component stocks and units, among others. Hong Kong-registered Jardine Matheson was added to the STI in September 2008, with five of its subsidiaries, including Jardine Strategic, joining the index later.

Jardine Matheson  said the acquisition is expected to become effective by the end of April 2021.

It intends to cancel the 59 per cent shareholding in  Jardine Matheson  held by Jardine Strategic through a reduction of capital at  Jardine Matheson' s annual general meeting in 2022.

Both  Jardine Matheson  and Jardine Strategic will be announcing their FY2020 preliminary results on March 11.  Jardine Matheson  said it expects results " to be in line with market expectations, with full-year underlying net profit of US$1,085 million and underlying earnings per share of US$2.95" .

The seven-day rate went up 14.5 basis points to 2.144 percent, the one-month rate went down 1.4 basis points to 2.583 percent, and the one-year rate stayed flat at 3.102 percent.

Ascendas...

Today she opened at 2.93 and traded up to 2.94 : 2.95.
Didnt Dow rally more than +500 pts on Fri ?
Then how come she still cannot break above 2.95 to reach 3.00 ?
Why she cant hold on to her gains and at least maintain at 2.94 : 2.95 ?
Some more can retreat to now 2.92 : 2.93. Why ?
Becoz there is still selling.
Whoever has a SELL order to fill is exploiting Friday' s rally to sell at higher prices to whoever wants to buy.
The selling is quite measured. This seller is not in a hurry to sell. Hence he can wait for buyers to appear at
2.92 to 2.95 and he distributes to them. What happens from here will depend on two things. The first is how
many more shares he has to sell to fill his SELL order and the second is timeline. If his client suddenly says
to sell by this week no matter what, then this broker will no longer has the luxury of time to slowly sell at 2.92
to 2.95. He will have to speed things up abit and that' s when we may see 2.90 breaks. Another factor is whether
Dow suddenly goes into a correction. If that should happen, more sellers (other than the current seller) will
appear to throw to escape the selldown. Then we re-examine the situation and reassess. But fear not if it
happens. Becoz history has shown again and again that all market crises are triple confirmed, on hindsight,
a buying opportunity. So fear not if a correction comes. Fear only that you have already used up all your
bullets and have no more ammo to scoop at the bottom.

I will do this with Ascendas to illustrate my point.
You can do the same with your chosen stock.
For Ascendas... today we saw price range at 2.91 to 2.95.
In the course of today, we saw the price touched Day Low at 2.91 and after that she traded up to 2.94 : 2.95 which is a good 4 bids
above the Day Low of 2.91. But the price is now back at 2.92 : 2.93. When this happens, just ask ourselves what must there be before
this can happen. Selling. There must still be people willing to sell before the price can lose ground from 2.94 : 2.95 to go back to 2.92 : 2.93.
Meaning there is still selling going on. The selling is not done yet. Becoz if the selling is done, if there is no one left who is willing to sell at
below 2.94 when the price was doing 2.94 : 2.95, we will see the price edge up to 2.95 : 2.96 when sellers at 2.95 have dried up and only
sellers at 2.96 can be found with no more sellers at 2.95 left. But if the selling is not done...if there are still people willing to sell at 2.93 and
lower, we will see the price edging lower when buyers at 2.94 dries up and then even lower when buyers at 2.93 dries up and so on. And
for as long as there are still people selling, 2.91 will eventually dry up as well and that' s when we see 2.90. And so on. So long as there is
still selling, the bottom isn' t reached yet. That being the case, why buy now. I should wait. I should wait for sellers to dry up first.

Wall Street boys dont just play US markets. They also play Asian and European markets.
Time wise, Asian markets will open first, then Europe and then US.
So when these big boys decide to sell, they start with Asian markets.

General Lucky has a super huge army.
Which empowers him to buy 100 lots at 2.92.
After that if she runs up to 2.99 and then lao hong, the General can sell and take one round of nice profits first.
If she falls further to 2.82, the General can buy 200 lots to average down.
Same story...if she runs up after that to 2.92 and then lao hong, the General sells.
But if she falls to 2.72, the General adds another 300 lots.
And the process is repeated.
One day...one fine day...this weakness will end and the whole market will be up again and go higher than before.
And Ascendas will be back at 3.00.... 3.10... 3.20 and so on.
When that happens, all those hundreds of lots bought at 2.92....2.82....2.72.... and lower (if any)... will all be deep in the money.
THE END.
